what i do:

create a plane in the front view
open the material editor
select the 2nd color material, click on "get material"

select the "bitmap" one, on the selection window i select my video file (1.22meg .avi file, compressed with cinepak).

once this is done, i cannot "assign material to selection anymore".
so i guess one of the previous steps is wrong, what's missing?

thank you.

Ok, hereīs how it works:

Create a plane in the front view
Open the material editor
Select an unused material slot (so far so good)

Now, instead of clicking get material, what you need to do is either click on the little blank square on the right of "diffuse" in the "blinn basic parameters" menu (itīs right behind the material slots), or open the "Maps" menu and click on the rectangular box that reads "none" on the right of diffuse color.
Both will take you to the same screen, wich asks you the kind of map you want to use.
NOW, choose bitmap and find your avi file.

To apply the material either drag it to the deesired object (from the material slots) or select the object on the viewport and press apply material. Be sure to press the little blue and white box on the material editor to see the material on the viewport.

Phew, hope that helps
