i've been working on this painting for about a month now in my spare time. Then i found out about this challenge and thought it fits the theme pretty well. This is where i stand now...

Welcome to the forums and the challenge. This is great work here well painted.

Though this is a very good work, it still looks very painterlly. Mattepaintings usually are much more geared to photorealism than painter like. Maybe a little more work on the realism will make this top notch!

Hi there,

you are right about the painting style. Although the clouds or many of the picture elements were photo-references wich were overdrawn and filtered, i decided to keep the painterly-look for now. May there will be a matte painting from this image later, but now i don't have the time to finish two paintings and i love the painter-style so i will not submit this to the challenge...
