I am currently working on some low poly props for my project, and I was wondering what the best filetype (.bmp .psd or whateva) for the textures are and what sizes are recommended.

Here is an example of what I have made. The scene contains about 10.psd textures (some are bump and glossiness textures) ranging between 300x300 and 1000x1000 in size.
Should I make them 1024, 512, 256 etc for the best result?

nah, I think your fine but, correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldent a psd texture make the rendertimes die a little more than say a bmp? that is if you have more than one layer in the psd anyway... I havent experamented though

My understanding is that 3D applications turn all maps to BMP bitmaps to render them, so using BMPs should eliminate that process.
