Georgenz - Summer Fest (Underwater City)

Thought I might give this challenge a go. Been a while since I've attempted this sort of thing.

Here's a rough sketch of my concept.

An update. Just been gathering reference photos and have started assembling the matte. It's pretty rough at the moment and needs a lot of cleanup. Basically, what you can see now is a whole heap of different rock images combined. I'll need to paint over a bunch so the look is consistent and looks like underwater rocks.

I'm aiming to keep it fairly flat for now and then go back in later and work in lighting, shadows and colour.

I find doing a city quite daunting, so kinda procrastinating on that part a bit :)

I'm beginning to think working at a real high res was a bit of a mistake. It's taking ages, lol. However, it'll be good to finish something of that quality for once if I can pull it off.

Haven't done much lately, other than fixing up some perspective issues and adding some floating rock areas in the middle of the main formation.
