automatic mental ray section rendering?

Hi i'm wondering if there's any chance to automatically render a very high res image in maya with mental ray in sections. since the resolution is about 22 000 x 17 000 px . (incredibly big, i know! about 8x6 meters!)

as you might understand this resolution is too big to render all at once and will prolly result in a crash. i thought, rendering the image in sections could make it easier for the computer? since i wanna render passes, and doing it all by hand could be tedius... anyone know of any plugin?

i used the script in max instead and rendered with mental ray, which worked perfectly!
