Hello Everyone,

Thanks for supporting the Speed Sculpting Challenges!

Time limit: 5 hours
Start Date: 6th August, 17:00 GMT+0
Deadline: 20th August, 11:59 PM GMT+0
Subject: Pirates – Past, Present & Future

The 007th sculpting challenge final entries are all in, so it's now time to decide on our 7th winner! This job rests on you guys - the participants and spectators! Here's all you have to do:

1. Check out the Speed Sculpt Challenge - 007 - Final Submissions (http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=60986)thread
2. Find your top 3 favourite entries and rank them from first to third, remembering that points will be given as folllows: 1st: 3 points, 2nd: 2 points & 3rd: 1 point.
3. Only the rank and names are required, and we prefer the thread to be kept clean of chatter and such, although please feel free to give reasons as to why you have chosen each of your top 3, and perhaps make some honourary mentions if you wish you could have voted for more!
Voting Rules and Restrictions:
- In order for your vote to be valid, your post count must be 50 or above. The only exception to this rule is if you have contributed an entry yourself to the 007 challenge.
- If you want to vote but are not a contributor of this 007 challenge, you need to have been registered on the Threedy Forums for at least the last six months.
- It goes without saying that all voters must look through each of the entries before posting their score, and only entries from the final submissions thread are valid.
- Don't vote for yourself!
There is just one week to vote! We will add up all the points and announce the winner on Thursday August 28th after 10:00 AM GMT (or earlier if the 3DT team see it fit to end the voting sooner, i.e. if there have been no votes for over 24 hours).

Happy voting! :D

I Grek - To be honest I find it hard to believe you did that detailed sculpt in 5 hours, but I'll trust you did :) The facial features could use some work, but the pose and cloth work are excellent.

II Pedro - it's a great quality sculpt, but I have problems with the concept. It's not logically consistent, since such a fat person could not have those sharply cut lean arms with protruding veins, and also a lot of the fat deposits are arbitrarily placed and don't make sense.

III MRP3D - Love the design. Would look great as a 3d print.

Oddity - why would you think grek didnt do it in 5 hours, it's hardly a detailed sculpt..:S Yours is more detailed and anatomically correct overall, and would take just as long. I'm still voting you first because I love it.

Pedro Toledo

Hope it's okay to just vote for two. Too many others tie for third IMO

Oddity - Very well done. I don't dig the overall concept much... He doesn't seem to have much of a "piratey" attitude, but the sculpting is really nice.

Crispy4004 - I think her face looks a bit unfinished, and her left hand could probably be in a better pose, but I think you did a sensible work on her body.

Juhone - I really like the face you did. Nice lines.

1. Crispy 4004

2. Abelion

3. Pedro Toledo

Honorary Mentions: Slangford, Sandpiper, Severed Son, Grek 28 and oddity.

The ideas and quality of the most sculpts are on the same level this time.
But the overall quality would be better and more interesting if there is more
time to improve pose and details. Five hours are ok for a bust with eyes but
for arms, hands, interesting pose and additional props it's too little.

Hopfully the mods think about this item for the next challenge.

Cheers

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delay with the 008 challenge! I've got the brief pretty much sorted but just waiting for some feedback on the base mesh situation as don't want to kick off the challenge till I know we're good to go, so thanks for your patience everyone! I'll try to get the challenge started over the weekend, but if not it'll be Monday now. Sorry for the delay but see you soon for the 008 Challenge! It's pretty different to what you're used to - that's all I'm saying for now, so stick around as it's on it's way!
