Hi all.

Decided id have another go at a Medieval scene. I really learnt a lot about texturing during my last Medieval scene, esp about dirt maps etcs. So here goes. Havent really decided how to detail this scene so any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

Looking awsome!
Great modeling and textures there :)

Little advice - You should work a bit more on the grass and ground texture...

Keep up the good work!

neat stuff!

The roof is bothering me a bit though, if you're going for a shake roof (wikipedia link) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shake_(shingle)) look, I think the pieces of wood should be smaller. Or you could also think about a roof made of slate, like this one: (link) (http://lh4.ggpht.com/_OC38GWTFcQM/RzbYe8maEjI/AAAAAAAABhc/uDENt-4CGxM/IMG_2036.jpg). :)

A little more variation in the plants/grass will bring more realism. I agree on the roof shingles. They don't appear realistic.

Hu. Yeah i still need to add some plants etc in the 'garden' area. I have added some rain flooding at the bottom of the path. What u think?

Very nice so far - but i don´t think the reflection is correct. From your point of view, there would be no wagen. This would only work if the wagon stands close to the water. Did you Postprocess this in PS by mirroring your Picture?

Maybe i´m wrong, but something confuses me about the reflection.

The water looks bit unrealistic. At the time of day the sky should occupy a large part of the reflection and as Psycho Mantis said the house wouldn't be visible it's too far away to be visible at this angle. Also adjust the refraction so it gradually becomes less refractive as it gets to the center of the pool (I think a falloff should do the trick). And you could at least rotate one of the cart wheels, maybe doing another texture would be too much but it just pops in my eye.
I like how you done this so far, I like the uneven shape of the roof makes it more plausible. But the way you set up your objects it doesn't really let you much room for anything else in the image. That is if you plan on modeling something else :)
I wish you best of luck!

I really do like the carts sides.... that woven basket style material. Nicely done, is that bit modeled or an alpha map?

Let's see some wires! Everyone loves wires!

Nope, it is all actually modelled. No alpha maps! Ok, will reneder a wire for you!
