snapping vertices together

ok I want max to snap two or more vertices together that I've at last only one vertex. how can this be done.
pehaps this is a question which seems to be really silly, but I started useing max just one week ago. I used milkshape so I'm not completely new with the subject of modeling.

hope someone is able two answer my question.

Yes, "collapse" or "Weld"

sorry, ok but the thing is that i cant speek english very well and thats why i tried it here and not in the help.
