_Exercise_

The idea,
It’s about time we got in shape. What’s this mean; it means it’s time to lace up your gym shoes, stretch out your muscles, get all sweaty and exercise. I’m talking straight up calorie burning exercise. The kind that has you all sore in places you didn’t even know existed exercise. The kind of exercise that has your friends and family saying you must be crazy. That’s the kind of exercise I’m talking about.
Like all animation challenges, this one is open to artistic interpretation. It can be as simple as a guy walking, running or doing push ups. If you want, you can even invent a new exercise, or better yet, a new exercise machine, and your character demonstrates how to you it..

Rules

- The due date is September 21st, (4 weeks and some days from now) a Sunday, 12 midnight (GMT). Voting will be on that following week. Post your final entries in the Final Entry Thread.

- Minimum animation: your animation needs to include a minimum of 5 seconds, with or without music, do more if your bored.
-
- Recommended screen resolution in 320x240 (you can do 640x480 if you want, but why would you). I will.

- You can post W.I.P.s but you are only allowed one complete entry. That link is also final. You can and should post your wip’s to get help.

- Websites where you post your finals is up to you.

- Remember, it's about animation, use your time for animation, not to get the best render possible, unless you can afford it.

- Use of plug-ins not allowed. Must be key framed (hand animated)

- Use QuickTime. It will allow everyone to view your hard work, plus it gives everyone the chance to go through your animation frame by frame to see how you did what you did

- You must post a render of some sort with your final entry post; also include a screen grab with key frames.

- Voting will be as follows -

First place (3) points
Second place (2) points
Third place (1) points

Prizes:(only available with 6 or more final entries)

Winner gets to choose one of the following options:
- 12-month subscription to the 2DCreative magazine
- 12-month subscription to the 3DCreative magazine

Good luck!

animating that bag seems like the hard part. How will you do it.

Im gunna keep it simpel. I was thinking making it in segments, then it should be just like a basic pendulum exercise.

I'm in the middle of doing the keys, and Im experiencing some trouble with the rig I'm using. The torso and the head sometimes pops out, and gets unlinked from the rest of the rig.

Im using the Max rig, have anybody else had the same problem??

WIP 01:-

I know it does some weird stuff with the neck at the start. I had some trouble with the rig... a pain in the neck (just had to squeeze that one in:-)

Else Ive abandoned the initial idea of the guy kicking the punch bag. It just didn't work, coming from aggression to surprise to aggression again. Didn't fit the character.

Still an early stage, but feel free to crit away.

It looks good that she isn't perfectly uniform over the shoulders. The hands and feet though needs to be more locked down.

Thanks...that was just a quicky not really what i had in mind.....Warlock was telling me that i should make her training with her sword knocking down dummies posted around her. Thing is i am already working on some models right now for a game and i would need to make a scene with all that in it before animating her. If anyone has any breakable dummy models for me to use (via .obj) with a scene that would be of great help. you will get credit for your contribution.

Still something wrong with the neck. But now comes the really fun part, determine where the inbetweens are gunna be. That always gets me going, thats where you really put your own touch to the animation.

Looking good, I don't like the pose around 170 though, looks a bit unnatural and twinned. Nice work.

thanks for the comment Dex. I think its the surprised pose that you are referring to on frame 170. Ill try and improve it, but atm I just trying to get this to a decent finished stage. I haven't put enough time on this challenge, basically been lazy.

Ill definitely do better on the next challenge.
