I have made this head while I find a nice rustic house. (It is not easy in my town).
I really appreciate your c&c

I absolutely love it!
I love good texture jobs and this one is excellent to say the least.
Incredible what you've done with a relatively simple mesh!

eyes looks just perfect..
she is really beautiful.. but bit strange.. face looks amazing when i look in her eyes, but if i start look at other things, they seems not really great, sure they looks very good, but not perfect.. u know add some more colors in her face work at her skin more... anyway to me she is jsut great! nice work..
28-04-2003, 09:35 PM
no crits here, she looks great!:)
28-04-2003, 09:47 PM
Wow, great work. And thanks a lot for posting that mesh, really interesting that you have such incredible results from such a geometrically simple model.

Very good job !
28-04-2003, 11:54 PM

I will pay you $100 to animate her
29-04-2003, 06:00 AM
That is not a joke, btw.
You should also make physically correct eyes - with inward slopes irises to seal the deal on this character.
29-04-2003, 01:04 PM
You don't think, that 100$ is a bit few??
29-04-2003, 01:05 PM
its not $100 to OWN it, just to animate it for a demo reel.
29-04-2003, 03:21 PM
I will pay you $100 to animate her
thank you but Merce are not animatable, she was built to be seen frontly.
29-04-2003, 06:50 PM
That's a shame - I would have loved to put some life into her
30-04-2003, 09:29 AM
Hi, great work!!!
would you post a front and side wireframe? (no meshsmooth),
anh please, explain us how did you use shag hair!!!
what kind of illumination did you use?
30-04-2003, 09:35 AM
The hair location:
and the hair settings:
30-04-2003, 09:42 AM
so you use, some indipendent spline for hair for each id?
and what kind of material and shader?
have you use, a different illumination for skin and hair?
anyway, thanks for your answers!

I really like your work Juan!
The lowpoly is simple and gets a fantastic smoothed result!
Keep it up!
30-04-2003, 11:27 AM
Just Amazing!!!! As allways Juan
I love the sweet expression and the eyes size.
Great....there´s so much character in her.
As much as I love you scenes, I gotta say that you character work leaves me speechless every time!

30-04-2003, 06:22 PM

I think it looks excellent. I think the skin could use a little translucency added with a falloff map. The skin would also look better with some slight imperfections and variations, like freckles and the like. The little red parts of the eyes where the tears come from seem kind of odd pointing down like that. Also, for a portrait, you should have he eyes looking at the camera.
Other than those tiny little things, excellent work! :D

Looks great, why I was attracted to this field. But, sort of like Zytrex, just wondering what would make it look actually real, texturing in general. Sorry if it flips around. I can post new thread if you want.

Very good job, the eyes are amazing!
Somehow the rest doesn't seem to match the same photoreality but the eyes are just captivating. I think maybe some more detail in the lips' texture would help but either way it is a very fine image.
Could you post your spec/bump/diffuse map of the skin ??
And also the map of implantation of the eyebrown and eyelash (with shag hair setup !!)
01-05-2003, 01:44 PM
Look great. Incredible eyes.
Any chance you could post a wire frame (no mesh smooth) of the eyes?
01-05-2003, 04:08 PM
brilliant man!! another request for a close up on the eyes wireframe
01-05-2003, 05:06 PM
Please have mercy! This is wonderful.
amazing work very beautiful....... :halo:
keep it up! :D

Fantastic work Juan. Looks like a Hobbit to me ! or at least a character from Tolkiens World... Good to see you can handle characters as well as your excellent outdoor scenes. I really like the semi-realism look! after all total realism can be boring to view in character work. Great stuff
03-05-2003, 10:43 PM
Eres el mejor .... muchas felicidades
You are the best .... congratulartions
04-05-2003, 12:06 PM
Weary nice work ! Like the rest of the members, i love the eyes... Please cheer ur secret abut the material fore the eyes... :p
04-05-2003, 04:42 PM
What hit me the most were the eyes.
The wire looks very simple but I am sure such clean modelling doesn't come without a lot of practice.
:) :) :)
04-05-2003, 07:43 PM
wow, very nice...
I like its hair
05-05-2003, 02:31 PM
God god !! Am I dreaming!! No doubt it is a unique piece of art!!
