hiding light (and light effects!) in smax

hello, i wonder how i could hide lights (and the light effect caused by them) in smax. i tried to hide them normaly but then everything get pitch black. i guess there must be a option to get default lighting without deleting all lights in a scene, right?

Yeah..hiding the light won't effect anything, but turning it off will make everything ehh..pitch black like you said.
If you want the lights turned off, and still have default lighting - go into Viewport Configuration (right-clking in top left corner..last option), and on the right check the "Default Lighting" box.
You can also select between 1 or 2 lights for the default. :)

if you're not using max 5, then ctrl+L should also do the trick.
