Hi..

When i try to model characters i always endup in the same problem, modelling the darn hands. I was wondering if anyone could give tips of how it is best to model hands an so on..
I wanted to model The Batman character from the episodes on Cartoon Network, kinda cartoonish but with little blend from the Cinema batman, (more muscles and little more detail)

Here is the model so far

Modeling in 3ds max..

that's looking good man! I love seeing 2D characters being made in 3d, I too am working on a batman the alex ross one, but dude your's looks pretty sweet so far! Hands I've found are kind of tricky, but the way I always did it was extrude a box and chamfer to make the fingers, then just sculpt it using the verts. I may be completely full of **** so hopefully someone will drop by with their 2 cents.

Well, what i recommend is to create the basic hand using a box apart of the batman body. The box must have 4 segs(image), as an editable poly to each of these polygons you can use an inset and start to extrude and move vertex, then you can apply any kind of smooth (i recommend turbosmooth)
i hope this could help you
