- really awesome entry. love the design and concept. The model both low and high poly, really bring this together. I think the only thing bringing it down some, is the textures. Its a good choice for subdued colours and design, but overall, it could have used some more defanition and variation.

There were many fine entries. I placed yours in second mainly because it all seemed rather busy on the eye. I can see you put alot of work into the entire project...well done. I really liked your color choice, although generally I find the Black/green thing to be 'Matrix' - cliche', but you pull it off. Clean model.

I felt strongly that your hardwork to get past alot of the toil of building and designing your character deserved third. It technically is not as good as some of the others that were put in, but in my mind you started at the beginning, had some issues to work through and saw it through to the end. Completion of a project is above all most important in these things. In the future if you can..work your color schemes and textures and relax on your design. I generally find that drawing alot of abstract stuff loosens up the pencil and usually turns up something good...See you next time a round!

I like this a lot - the immediate appearance is really solid and the idea is right up my (back) street ;)

I've marked you down a little on the mesh because while your topology is clean and easy to follow it's also a little unbalanced and inefficient. I don't think you'd see any negative effect if you tore 500 tris out of the torso but you would gain a lot by putting another 200 into his armour
I'd like to have seen a little more colour in the texture - its actually pretty difficult to distinguish between the untextured and textured versions under that blue light.

Really cool character, the highpoly is great, the lowpoly very good indeed although with those tris to spare I think you could have smoothed out some of the facets in the sillhouette - particularly around the head
I would have liked to have seen more colour and detail in the textures - I understand he's meant to be all dark & that but there are parts where it seems a little muddy

What's damaged your score most is the presentation -I'm guessing you were a little rushed there :)

Model (8/10) Nicely modeled, the mesh has a very nice flow to it. Though I'm a bit reluctant to give you points for your 'theme' I can't deny you executed the concept to model well.
Textures (7/10) A bit simplistic. I would have liked to see more detail like was put into the concept.

I think of everything it was your texture work that keep you out of my top three. The lack of discernible organic mass also played a part in this decision. The metallic orbs in his stomach (on on the back of the legs) also seem out of place when you look at the character as a whole.

I really liked your character idea. But your presentation and textures took you out of the running. You had too many facets along the mechanical portions that I thought needed to appear smoother, it looked like instead of working at making the lowpoly look like it was more detailed though the texture, you were trying to make the lowpoly look like it was part of the design, and this seriously weakened the character in my opinion.

Solid. I really like the design. Nice clean/classy presentation, the winning pose could be a bit more dynamic tho perhaps. Good polygon distribution, excellent flow, and great over all shape and a wicked silhouette to the character. Nice UV layout, well packed and sensible.

Textures are pretty good as well, particularly what you've done with the torso, and the areas where the mechanical bits meet flesh. The textures on the legs/tentacles could maybe be a little more interesting, maybe carrying the red over into them some in the form of trim, or a light on each segment or something. I love the mask/helmet, simple and striking visually with the offset black stripe. Really nice all around. Excellent work.

Your concept was wicked from the start and you carried it over to 3D pretty well, maybe lost some of the crispness of the concept, and the life of the cape, but still very well executed I think. Presentations very nice, all the images tie together and the winning pose is pretty dynamic. Your shape/silhouette is solid and I can't find any fault with your poly distribution/flow.

You UV layout is pretty well packed, my only complaint there, and this is largely just a matter of personal preference and pretty nit picky at that, but I'd have made sure the sword blade was running perfectly perpendicular, makes painting long straight lines easier, and the three little island between it and the scarf/cape would fit to the right if it were straightened. Textures are pretty good, be nice if you could have made the green a little more intense like you had in the concept, but still solid work. Really nice work, from concept to completion, well done.

Concepts as cheeky as ever, and the presentation is clean and concise. The models shape is really solid and well balanced, and I can't find any issues with the flow/distribution. UV layout could be a little tighter I think, there's a fair chunk of empty space down the right side. Textures are solid. Great color scheme, works well with the idea of the character.

Only qualms I have with it are with the eye and the lack of scratches. I'm not sure why, but the color just doesn't work for me on the eye, almost too muted maybe and a little devoid of life where the rest of the character seems rather full of life. The paint chipping's pretty nice, tho it doesn't appear to be present in the normal map, which I think would it if it were. I also think the paint could really use some scratches. Right now it seems like the paint's flaked away over time, rather than been worn away from use/interaction with objects, I'd expect to see some scratches in there as well as chipping.

Very well designed and solidly executed. Nice work.
