SciFi Gun Design :)

Yeh its a lame subject but after doing the mech i was quite drained so this is an interlude model.
Designed it myself from the ground up. I really like this way of working its something new i haven't had much experience with but its slowly growing on me as a new passion.
textured by Mason Doran and created for the Black Sun Entertainment "Azureus Rising" short film production

this gun looks great. not too much sci-fi unrealistic stuff. pretty much like something you can buy today - what i totaly like when its about science fiction. great proportions and looks like it can be handled like a real gun - and it looks very "massive" like it will hurt a lot when you will get slapped with it in close combat. are texturing it, or going to model a case or a holster?

Wow, kinda looks like a futuristic assualt rifle has been bolted on to a pistol handle and it works really well.

Every going to texture it?, would love to see some glow, steam coming from holes in the fron of the gun. Ace work.

You and Aleks both have an uncanny...ability to trace some very very fine edge loops around some very complicated shapes and forms while keeping a very solid poly flow. This is gun is no exception.

I'm an both in awe and jealous. Mostly jealous...

Glow is done in PS, just crappy outer glow using my Gold matcap i created for Zbrush.

Ok, I'm not really a fan of mags in the front of a hand gun.

But, with that being said, I LOVE this design. Great texture, and it has a great "weight" to it. Well done.

Still not my first choice design wise, but well executed

While I assume he just modelled the gun instead of designing it my guess that the "clip"is a battery and the clip still sits in the grip.
Thus making this a guass/coil gun (http://www.powerlabs.org/coilguns.htm)

Hi guys,

Yes i designed it as a Battery Gun, The Clip charges two coils inside the barrel, so you can reload while still having 2-3 shots remaining.
