Hi,
Finally finished this, many thanks for all the help in the W.I.P.! I am still happy to make tweaks if something is spotted so crits and comments are welcome.

Cool piece man!
But aren't the birds a bit too big? I mean, when compared to the scale of the castle, they would have to be at least 5meters from tip to tip...

Thanks mate,

I changed the birds and just uploaded over the old image.

Nice. All those little things make a big difference, eh? Plus, it always helps when you have a great image to start with:) Nice work.

I still think that the pose could and should give the sense of his humongous weight a bit more, plus, his back is too straight for someone who's carrying a fortress on the shoulders.
I think that's the only thing keeping this from being a master piece.
Anyway, I say it again, its a great piece!

Nice one.I agree with DD though.I think if you gave him a more "dramatic" pose with his back bent under all that mass or something like that,it would look much better. Also, the whole beach/coast line thing is bugging me.I can't feel the scale of this guy when I look at the bottom of the image.Maybe the water should be closer to the trees,or maybe the detail on the sand doesn't work ,but to me there's definitely something wrong in there :)

Very intriguing, I can imagine this in a Lord of the Ring scene...

very very nice. my only crit would be the legs (a bit flat in comparision to e.g. his hands).

Very nice piece of art engy27. I like what u did to the environment too, it gives good idea of the scale.
It also reminded me of the Warhammer 40K Titans, but then in a different setting of course.

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them!

I think the comments about the weight of the fortress relative to his pose are fair enough. I just imagined that the weight of it was probably only half or maybe a bit more than his body weight. With that in mind I thought about the SAS soldiers, or marines who often have to travel great distances with a similar weight ratio for their back packs. Also I tried to make his legs and torso look solid enough to take it. Guess its all subjective?
