Final Images:

Required In The Final Post (1 post per entry):

- 1 x Winning pose shot. This image can only have "One" pose of your character. No multiple shots or different angles. Just one! (Recommend image size – 1000pixels by 1000pixels)

- 1 x Beauty shot of your character. Feel free to put multiple angles of your character or just one big version or your character on this page. Even better, try to composite a nice art piece similar to the ones in the Winners' Gallery. Be careful how you do this though, simple is often better. It’s up to you. (Recommend image size – 1000pixels by 1000pixels)

- 1 x wireframe shot of your character. Feel free to put multiple wireframe shots or just one big wire frame shot on this page. It is up to you. Must have polycount included. (Recommend image size – 1000pixels by 1000pixels)

- 1 x texture sheet that includes all your used sheets squeezed into "one" sheet. (Recommend image size – 1000pixels by 1000pixels)

- Concept Sheet (Only if you have a concept) (Recommend image size – 1000pixels by 1000pixels)

Sorry, I ran out of time for the pedastal, so no entry in the "Here they stand" category. Also, these are all screen grabs using my shaders. No renders here.

Well I did not have time to finish the environment, but I was able to get the characters to a point that I am happy with them. Still I think I keep playing with these for a while. Well its been fun. I have to rush to work.

1st Place: WarLock 279 - freaking cool, you keep bring the heat, even without normal maps

2nd Place: Buzzy: I think your shader is darn cool. Hope to see you using it in the Dominance War

3rd Place: DeadlyFreeze - would have liked to see what the sheild looking thing was going to look like but, that's ok. Overall it is a clean model.

Agent X: really like the bone texture but like I said before, the cloak killed the overall flow by the way it hangs. Also, for your beauty render you should have posted an image your your low poly model, instead of just your high poly.

Joseph Pomeisl: it's a cool model, but I think the mesh flow is messy in some areas, also, It would be nice if you used more of the texture space given. 2048 is alot of room to play with. You only used half.

lampshadehead: I think for future renders, try to stay away from black backgrounds, they take away for the renders, also, and this goes for everyone, when rendering make sure you render at a size worth printing at, like 2400x3000pixels(8x10inches) then you can use these models for your portfolio.

everyone else, if I didn't say anything about your model, its not because I don't like you, it's because I'm a bit short on time. I will come back and add when time permits.

1st Place: W.D.L - Great stylised design, the piece exudes character

2nd Place: Buzzy - Mean looking character suits a dealer well

3rd Place: Warlock279 - Highly detailed, fabulous texture work

Bunch of nice entries here!

1st Place: Buzzy- that is awesome sauce! I love the weapon, and he clearly looks like bad news!
2nd Place: Warlock279- That bear looks incredible! The samurai's mask seems so plain in comparison to every other detailed piece of armor, give that guy some damage or wear or even more detail in the shadows! But overall great work!
3rd Place: WDL it was a toss up between you and a some others but your character clearly fits the adventure party's healer qualifications! Great job!

Great job everybody! Hopefully I can jump on the next one!

1 : Warlock - Really awesome texture work! And a samurai riding a bear is just a brilliant idea! Although, I wish you had used normals instead of bumps. Doesn't really scream "Death Dealer" but you still get my top vote.
2 : WDL - I love the simple design. Probably the most style of any piece here.
3 : DeadlyFreeze - Great model and texturing, but the pose is a bit weak. Would have liked to have seen it completely finished with the shield and all.

BigToe - You might have made #3, but I can't tell whether your character is a Dealer or a Healer. The big cross suggests a healer, but she is covered in blood and carrying a big sword.

roel - Great design. Really reads as a gritty Death Dealer. Your texturing is coming along but you still have some room for improvement. Good comp.

1st: Buzzy - Nice, clean and tight texture work and modeling, the intricate detail work on the armor is amazing and he definitely looks like he 'packs a punch'.

2nd: Warlock 279 - Love the amount of detail you put into the texture. A little bit of wear and tear on the armor would have help braking up the repetitive of the armor a bit and some more variation on the bear's fur color, but overall a sweet looking model.

3rd: FrZnChAoS - Nice character overall, definitely comes across as a healer type character. The texture work could use some extra work, wings look really flat and can use some more detail and better pose would have really added to the character of the model. For the style you were going for I believe a toon/ink 'n paint shader would have worked to your advantage.

That was tricky

My top three could all have placed first, in the end it came down to texturing and much as it pains me to hand Warlock another 1st place ( :p ) I've had no choice.

Warlock: dude, seriously get a sculpting app and use it. You've got everything else nailed down fully.

Buzzy: more colour variation and more wear/cracks/mud etc. on the weapon/armour would have got you a first from me. it was very, very close though

W.D.L: The main thing I'd say is that the textures need to be more vibrant and higher contrast - the spec is a bit washed out too which I think is contributing.

everyone else (because I wasn't around to crit anything in the WIP thread)...

AgentX : nearly in there. I feel you should work more on your topology since the meshflow isn't really reflecting what's going on with the model. This is particularly evident in the lower torso. Also, i found your textures to be a little muddy - I know it's a dirty dead bloke but adding colour will draw the eye to important areas

Deadlyfreeze : Personally I would have gone with the helmet rather than a bare head but otherwise I really like the character design. Where it falls down a bit is that you've not modelled his hair in and that you've mirrored the face texture (a pet hate of mine). His skin in particular is very glossy. Otherwise, very solid modelling and really nice character design. honorary 4th place for you :D

2nd: Warlock 279 - The Devil is in the details... damn he's truly possessed.

1st: Buzzy - amazing model, pretty creepy too.

2nd: Warlock - amazing work! But it would have been cooler if you'd used a normal map in my opinion... still awesome work!

3rd WDL - great character, toony but realistic too. Really clean mesh. Well done!

Everyone entered awesome models, well done all of you! Hopefully I'll have time to compete in the next contest!

Super cool. Nothing like a brute with a big ol' whompin' to make up a DeathDealer. You've managed to take the "brute" character and create something original with it I think, between the armor, the really slick weapon and the peeled back mouth. I do think a little more color might be in order tho and he's still suffering a bit from the empty feeling upper body, would have been nice to see him get that collar or something. Really nicely done, congrats.

2nd - Deadly Freeze

Great concept, faltered just a bit in the end without the shield tho, it would have made your character really shine. The blue would have balanced out the orange perfectly. You even had the shield modeled, all you needed to do was slap one of the segments on a 128 and texture it, throw some blue highlights in the texture for the medic and you'd have been there. Lack of shield aside this is still a really really solid piece, and well executed. Texturing is really solid, and the characters design is pretty unique. Can't find any faults in your poly placement either. Nice work.

3rd - WDL

This turned out really nice, and you hammered it out so fast. I like the stylized approach to you took. I think it could use just a little more color, maybe some blue trim around the flowers on her skirt, or along the hem. I like the butterfly, makes a nice familiar/pet for her I think. Well done.

nice and clean muscle guy without any overwhelming details. the tombstone weapon helps bring out the nature of his occupation :)

2nd - warlock 279

great outcome with just regular bump maps. beautiful maps. would have put this at first, but i like buff guys more. haha

3rd - Joseph Pomeisl

i love how the silhouette came out on this one. sorta like a medieval hellboy. i wish there was more solid texturing, or this would have turned out pretty wicked.

1st: Warlock279 Your technical skill all around was excellent!
2nd: Deadlyfreeze You take on this comp is what I think set you apart from the rest by not being in a medievil setting. Though I would've like to have seen an asymmetrical face other then that nice job.
3rd: Buzzy Your texturing skills are superb, and I like the grave as a weapon(very clever!) though I think a little more could've gone into your character on the creative side it just seemed as if it was zombie+gorilla+knight=your final render. It didn't scream DEATH DEALER to me it passed as more of a minion of some sort. But that's all just my opinion overall this was an phenomenal peice, Great work!!

as for everyone else... wow good job this it was actually hard to pick who to judge for this comp. Good work to all!!
