Hi there,
let me introduce you to my avatar character Meduru.
He is one out of 15 dark priests with the assignment to control the population of northern realm, reigned by the mad lord Hamar.
Dark priests are very mighty mages who are capable of using dark techniques and also form the elite units of the northern empire.
Meduru is till now the first dark priest who betrayed the lord.
Because of war he was able to escape in the border areas between the northern and the southern realm.
(This is the idea till now. Details will follow with the progress)
So yesterday i startet the first concept, that you can get an idea how a dark priest looks like.
Anyway i hope i will be able to finish this ^^. I'll do my best.

First off I really like the concept art. It's going along pretty good, but one thing kinda bugs me. One of the things I really like about your character is his face. In your sculpt he is kinda losing the smoothed over, amphibian face, mainly in the chin. I think his torso might be getting a bit too bulky also, mainly in the waist.

Thanks for the advise Andrew.
I made some rendertests in max, so here you can see an updated version of meduru rendered in max.

Great concepts! His stomach seems to be pushed back alot, which affects his pose alot. Perhaps you could help that by thin his torso a bit. I think you should continue to make your model similar to the first concept.

Thanks hulahuga.
Well the problem on making his torso thinner is the anatomy. It wouldn't match the rest of the body. But i will go back to zbrush and work over the model a bit.

Cool!
I like the composition and the angle :). There is one thing that I noticed and that is that the ears are straight, which they aren't in your concepts;)
Also maybe you should add some more stripes to his clothing. :P

Excellent work, man. The contrast in the wood texture looks a little too high, though. Doesn't quite fit with the rest of your colors. Something with an older feel, perhaps?

thanks for the comments.
@hulahuga: Thanks for youre accuracy of observation.
But i don't reference completely my concepts and i think i will animate the ears within the morphing anyway. I also will overwork the cloth when i'm done with the rigging.
@Jibberwocky: Thanks.
Well i also will correct the textures after i'm done with the rigging but i will consider your suggestion.
But for now i think i will focus on the environment to get a better picture of the final image.

That could be a cool effect (ear animations) which would add a lot of realism.
His skin: perhaps you could darken the texture map a bit, right now it seems a bit glossy.
Gj keep it up :)
Ehm... Sorry for interrupting the process... but... ehm... What about this?

It clearly says that it shouldn't be use outside of 3Dtotal until after the deadline of the challenge.
I really like this image and you have done a great job, I hope for the best for you.

Anyway sorry for the long break but i focused on some other personal projects.
I started with the environment. Many objects missing but maybe you can get the basic idea of the setup.

the environment is excellent, and with the right illumintion it could be stunning! Did you detail the trees in zbrush?

thanks for the comments,
@hulahuga: I thaught about a forest and an entrance to an ancient ruin as the background.
@outlander: Yeah i detailed the trees in z-brush. But the ones on the background aren't finished.
Anyway the textures aren' final yet. I wanted to get an idea of the colors of the scene.
There also will be rocks, more plants and more old architecture
