View Full Version : (3DS Max 9 SP2) converting Particles to Meshes

Hi there,

Years ago when using Max4.0 I used to convert my SuperSpray particles to editable meshes.

This kept all the key framed animation, but I was able to edit each particle individually.

But that was years ago... I'm using 3DS Max 9 now and I can't for life of me remember how to convert my SuperSpray into an editable mesh.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

AJ

Off the top of my head, add a "Mesher" composite object and attach the spray to the mesher gizmo

Hi there,

Soz for the long delay in getting back to you.

I've not heard of a 'Mesher' composite object before and nor a mesher gizmo in my many years of using Max.

Don't suppose you could do a quick guide of create a SuperSpray and converting to an editble mesh using 3DS Max?

Or, does anyone else know of another way?

Thanks.

AJ

Under compound objects (where booleans are) select mesher. From there it should be obvious. Alternatively you could read the help file and search for Mesher...

Edit: It took 10 seconds to find this using Google: http://www.kxcad.net/autodesk/3ds_max/Autodesk_3ds_Max_9_Reference/mesher_compound_object.html
