I'm NOT going to follow this, because this is looking crazy realistic already.
Oops, I see one flaw. in the middle picture, the edge of the pivot line is a little distorted.

But it's looking great man, hoping you'll move to the exterior soon! ;)

You model like noone else does -> you begin where the end is :P

Very good start!
I don't think it's a bad idea to start with the interior. It's the part which requires the most patience IMO given the amount of details. So it's probably better to get the complicated stuff done first. Good move. ;)
