I like the demon one better right now. I think it has better overall shapes and more details.

look its demon adam and eve. just kidding. I think I am going to go with the demon character. I thought I would throw together a female version to see how it feels. I still like the male version but I haven't created a female character in a while. what do you guys think?

Personally I think the female would be better. Playing with sexy curves and proportions will make her stand out. Muscular males are like a dime a dozen here.

doing some color tests on the skin and some armor ideas. let me know what you guys think.

It's a solid design, but the general feel is pretty close to your submission last year.
Perhaps you could play more with the proportions or throw in something out of left field.

thanks crispy. I kind of felt that too when I was going into this. I like this desing a lot more but I defiantly dont want to be one dimensional with only doing one style of character. maybe I will play around with some other concepts for a bit.

I revamped my concept. I felt like my first one was pretty similar to my submission last year and since others felt that same way. I came up with a character that is not so much my usual style. so I will be going with a demon princess. I am still figuring out a helmet, possible shoulder pads, and some more detail for the arms. let me know what you guys think

started modeling the body and armor in maya over the weekend. maybe 1 more week of modeling then some detail work in zbrush. I still havent figured out what the helmet will look like. but I think I will have it come down over her eyes while keeping the lower part exposed. any ideas or crit are welcome

hey thanks discmage. good on ya. I defiantly am inspired by gieger especially after seeing his badass museum in switzerland. I am doing some new armor tests to see what feels better the right or left side.

An idea I just thought of was having hands on hands and things...hard to explain though. On the armour have hands leading into her actual hands. As if there was another girl wrapping her hands over her wrists from behind or something. you could do the same for the 'bra' too...but maybe thats a bit cliche.
I would also add some 'armour' on her head too, don't know what, but it seems a little bare in comparison. EDIT: just read that you haven't got to that part yet :) I'm thinking something like the mother alien thing...sort of back and sweeping maybe?? OR geiger dreads! That would look cool!

from left to right I think a combination of 3 and 6 would be awesome. Hope you don't mind.

the first is the most majestic, this third form has a non-current style which can be interesting.
Good choice ;)

I like the first one. It really adds some nice shape to the silouette, and goes nicely with the rest of her curves.

I agree, number 1 seems best. It works with the overall shape complimenting it and against it , therefore enhancing the silo.
Cheers~!

i added some arms and am just about ready to take it into zbrush to add some details. and work on the form of her body. I just started the sleeves which were created in zbrush and this is just a low res version to see how it fits the character. I wanted the arms to be a bit more organic than the rest of the body. but I still want to keep the biomechanical giger look.
I am thinking about making one of her legs more organic looking so its looks like the suit is becoming a part of her. and it will add a little bit more asymetry which i think it could use.
still have to do the helmet too.

II got it into zbrush for a little detail work. I am still working on her other arm. I am going to try and make it a blend of that organic looking armor and some hard edge armor like her opposite leg. I have played around with a few helmet ideas in maya but haven't nailed anything down yet.
