Speed Painting Challenge no. 92

Topic: Wake The Dragon

Idea: So the swine flu is the newest virus to hit the streets. Everyone is freaking out about getting sick. But, don’t worry, there is an antidote. The only thing is, it’s located in that cave over there. Yeah, the cave with a sleeping Dragon in it. Not only is it in there with the sleeping Dragon, but it is underneath the sleeping Dragon. Your job is to get in there and get the antidote without waking the Dragon. Or, if you’re brave, go ahead and wake that sucker up.

Keep in mind, Dragons breathe fire, and heat will destroy the antidote and even kill you.

Deadline: 11:59 pm (GMT) Monday the 18th(use the time zone thread to make sure your done in time)

Rules:

- Any medium is allowed, as long as it can be put into digital form - scanned, photographed, etc.

- Since it's a speed painting, it should be finished in the smallest amount of time possible, but if you paint a whole day, you won't get disqualified. But for example, 4 days is too much

- IF YOU PAINT MULTIPLE ENTRIES, YOU NEED TO STATE BEFORE THE DEADLINE WHICH ONE YOU LIKE THE BEST. IF NOT – I’LL DO IT FOR YOU
- References can be used - 3D or photograph, BUT you can't paint over them. It has to be your own painting.

Custom brushes can be used, but to some extent - they can't be pre-made parts of the future painting, like a whole tree, brush, cloud, an explosion, lighting... you get the point. They can be - a couple of leaves, a couple of grass blades

Not a real entry. Just was trying out if the driver for my Wacom from the stone-age works properly together with my new Mac with Mac OS X Leopard. ;)

Approx. 1/4 hour fun with ArtRage + some useless work in Photoshop (5 min or so).

Hey CHAO5 good one! The color palette you used gave a grim and threatening look to your drawing, and the dragon design itself is interesting! Well done!

Ok, this is tough...but here's my voting:

1) J.B: definitey the best for me! It has good humour on the first, and very colourful and dynamic on the 2nd...loved both! =D
2) vnmribaya: really good technique and colors!
3) M_Cederstrom, shared with CHAO5: I loved the blue mood of MC's last entry, and really liked CHAO5 threatening and creepy dragon =D
