2009 Challenge #2 : Gate to Hell

Theme: Gate to Hell

I actually had a hard time picking a more original theme. We all saw sci-fi cities done hundred times as well as serene and tropical vistas so I figured this theme should bring something fresh :) It's a very fun and beautiful subject if approached with creativity so I hope you will enjoy it! It can generate epic and wide scenes as well as deep and scary ones...

By the way, the theme is not about flame and fire only. Hell is also cold...as an inspiration I give you the following piece from Christer Wibert:

Deadline: June 6, 2009

Jury: Tiberius Viris & Mateja Petkovic

Requirements: WIP thread & a minimum size of 1200 pixels

Prizes:

1st Place gets to choose one of the following options:
- 12 month subscription to the 2DArtist magazine
- 4 3dtotal e-books of his/her choice
- A copy of the Digital Art Masters book (one volume of choice)

He also can choose to be a guest judge for the next 3 challenges.

2nd Place gets to choose one of the following options:
- 6 month subscription to the 2DArtist magazine
- Your choice of any 2 E-books

3rd Place gets a choice of any 3dtotal E-book
