Hi!
During the Avatar contest I became a member herein. And for Dominance War IV is over for now, I think, I should look for other interesting tasks.
Matte painting is something, which I want to improve much more.
I like Photoshop and drawing, hope you'd like my final result.
The idea:
As a gate of hell I thought about Charybdis. A mouth within the ocean. For someone the end of the world, the gate to Poseidon's realm or even to Hades.
Attached the first step, collection of references and making a photomontage to work with.
Everything will be photoshopped at the end. And I will add some Poseidon columns and - of course - the organic part of Charybdis, tentacles or something like that.
The colour tune is meant to be somehow like the colour of old illustrations in mythologie, brown-grey-black ... a bit flithy lookin'.
