Speed Painting Challenge no. 95
Topic: Circus
Idea: Come one, come all, the Threedy circus is in town. Come see the tight rope walkers, the lion tamers, the snake handlers, the fire eaters, the water drinkers, the moderators, and the artist’s creations.
What comes to mind when you think circus? You have a week and a few days to figure it out.
Deadline: 11:59 pm (GMT) Sunday June 28th (use the time zone thread to make sure your done in time)
Rules:
- Any medium is allowed, as long as it can be put into digital form - scanned, photographed, etc.
- Since it's a speed painting, it should be finished in the smallest amount of time possible, but if you paint a whole day, you won't get disqualified. But for example, 4 days is too much
- IF YOU PAINT MULTIPLE ENTRIES, YOU NEED TO STATE BEFORE THE DEADLINE WHICH ONE YOU LIKE THE BEST. IF NOT – I’LL DO IT FOR YOU
- References can be used - 3D or photograph, BUT you can't paint over them. It has to be your own painting.
Custom brushes can be used, but to some extent - they can't be pre-made parts of the future painting, like a whole tree, brush, cloud, an explosion, lighting... you get the point. They can be - a couple of leaves, a couple of grass blades
Post your final images in this thread.

hello, everyone. I haven't posted anything in these forums for a long time, but I've been looking to find ways to motivate myself to get back into speed painting. it's good to see that Threedy's speed paint challenges are still going strong, and it's always cool to see everyone's different takes on the subject. here's my attempt:

i agree to liquidbear . its wery faint and weak so i drew another picture (a cloun esorcist with a sexy sidekick for j.b :D). this time i did it a bit darker. this lion was made with hard pencil so its kind of ligt. i'll scan and color it after weekend (going to coock shashlyk's to the wild) and than post it. wanted to make a series of celebritie cloun caricatures but dont have enough time.
liquidbear - i like your painting. made me laugh. :D
nucron - nice one. liked the emotion.
aby arty - i'd like a big mac , fries(the big one), an di diet cola - i'm on diet :D . colors puts a smile on my face :)
m-cederstrom thanks.
a little qestion off topic - this "painter" aplication. is it worth time and effort if you dont have this graphics board?

I would definitely say yes Pualius, one of the cools feature that i like on the program is the fact that you can rotate the canvas any time you want at any angle with quick keys. Also it great to use when you want a traditional look of an art piece. I have the light version my self, tho i did use painter X and that a whole new level of greatness for me. :D but really try to get a tablet. :)
paulius-st
28-06-2009, 07:39 PM
than ill try to download it and try. well about the tablet , its not that easy. its expencive in my country(about 1,5-2 monthly salaries - about 1000 us dolars) :( .

For some reason the ringmaster is almost always portrayed as a shady, sinister and evil character. Here's my version of the ringmaster.

Long time no see. Sory for not posting for some time but i had my licence exam and lots of covers and posters to create for my work (hammering3d is responsable for most of the requests  ) so here i am,the exorcism subject was damn funny lol, so i brought with me a speed paint of my exorcisation and the presentation of it so you'l understand it well :D, the dude on the chair is me, in the lower part of the painting is the 3dtotal angry mob ( you know those guys muhahhaha), as you can see, the priest and Myke :) from paulis-st crew has come and start the exorcism, but myke brought stupid things instead of what the priest needed, he brought whiskey instead of holy watter and his sketchbook instead of holy bible so you realize what kind of exorcisation i had :)))))) (red eyes are because of the wiskey he threw in my face :)))
PS: as you can notice i didn't exclude the staff :P
and my votes..., i allmost forgot :)
1. nucron
2. pitchus
3. paulis-st & liquidbear (paulis-st: nice faces man, but try to make some backgrounds as well; liquidbear: i see you are getting better by the competition, so keep it up)
paulis-st - i want to advise you not to rush and buy a cheap graphic tablet, from my own exprience i know that, my first tablet was a volito 2 (wacom), that was the crapiest tablet, i realy thought that this is the way the graphic tablet works, those 512 pressure level i thing they start at 400 pressure because my hand hurts after i use it, i had to press it realy hard to paint something, now i have an aiptek media tablet 14000u (not sure if that's the corect name) it is realy cool, big drawing surface, zoom weels and realy chep hope in time to buy an intuos 4 :), so if you don't want to give a lot of money for a tablet, the one that i'm using is a good deal i think, but google is your friend, i;m sure you'l find all the info you need.
Cheers
