Speed Painting Challenge no. 96

Topic: It’s Alive!!!!!!!!

Idea: Ok, so here is the idea, I need you to take any inanimate object and give it life. The object can range from; fruit, vegetables, CDs, TV’s or even a car, if that’s what floats your boat. There are no restrictions to what object you choose, I only ask that you give the object noticeable emotion/expression...

Deadline: 11:59 pm (GMT) Sunday July 12th (use the time zone thread to make sure your done in time)

Rules:

- Any medium is allowed, as long as it can be put into digital form - scanned, photographed, etc.

- Since it's a speed painting, it should be finished in the smallest amount of time possible, but if you paint a whole day, you won't get disqualified. But for example, 4 days is too much

- IF YOU PAINT MULTIPLE ENTRIES, YOU NEED TO STATE BEFORE THE DEADLINE WHICH ONE YOU LIKE THE BEST. IF NOT – I’LL DO IT FOR YOU
- References can be used - 3D or photograph, BUT you can't paint over them. It has to be your own painting.

Custom brushes can be used, but to some extent - they can't be pre-made parts of the future painting, like a whole tree, brush, cloud, an explosion, lighting... you get the point. They can be - a couple of leaves, a couple of grass blades

heres a warmup for imagination (not for contest). . 5 min. on the paper, 1 min in the scaner , 5 min in cs4 . i'll post better one for the contes but after i'll collor it and give it some background.

thanks liquidbear. i'm new in this speed painting thing too. i used to paint portraits and all sorts of stuff for money back in the days so i'm kind of trying to remember how its done :) . thanks though for coment.
chao5 nice banana and tomato. especialy tomato. it reminds me of an old film about mutant tomatoes. by your sign on the banana picture i gues your a fan of grafitti art.

liquidbear - :D . it looks like me after my birthday, only that i looked scaryer and without socks in my mouth. i've drawn a chess scene. the most dramatic moment in the game - checkmate. the grimreaper is a black queen and the white king, well the king him self - elvis. i made noncolor scene to add drama to the moment . so its up to your judgement.

i made it by drawing the scene on paper and modified the board in ms paint and cs4. about 2 hours of work and a cup off coffe.

Hi, this is the first time that I participate and I hope to improve further participation.

My job is easy but trying to practice the lights and shadows, I had a kind of Frankenstein microwave, afternoon around 2:30 hrs.

babis1 - nice one. murdurer. :D . what kind of vegetable or fruit is this? (its a shame to ask but i live a little bit north so ve dont have those around). a little suggetion - thiner outline would do miricles for this painting, shades do all the outlining in your image.

chao5 - i was a bit laizy on the end of drawing so i did a floor fastly .

resenhista - good one. 4hours,i would be bored to sleep when drawing so long. :) we have something in comon - i have my favourite pencil too:) . how much did your transformer cost ? i woul like to buy one like that and keep it as a pet.

It cost R$70...that means US$ 35 or so, but this is the cheapest someone can find around here...I want a Bumblebee and many others =D

your patient resenhista. my longest drawingtook about 3 - 5 hours and this time wasspent over a week. i usualy paint about 1-2hours if i dont get boared. i was joking about a toy :), but i'd like to get somereference or blue prints of this devastator thing.:)
aby arty - i like the idea. the oposit nature. but this rabbit looks perverted. i would be scared to death if some carrot would try to kill me. but this one is strangely happy.
as for suggestion iwould suggest using layers. it would help you make more clean pictures.

First of all i want to say HI :D, long time no see, seems that i won't participate on SPC soon because i have to finish some illustrations projects.
You all got realy cool stuff here, the animated tomato of Chaos, Paulis-st got realy better on coloring :), i love the style of resenhista ( reminds me when i was drawing with charcoal and pencils :P and i realy love black and white drawings), aby arty is realy strugling to get better :) and btw nice idea and creepy though, to be eaten by your food hahaha, and congrats also to the other i didn't mention before, and keep up with the good work, so i wish you all good luck and i'l try to visit the forum soon :)

1st: CHAO5 - the banana is well painted and insanely funny...and the paulius-eater-tomato rocks too! =D
2nd: paulius-st - loved your concept of the washing machine in the wild, the hippos colors and mood are funny ;)

That topic gave me a good idea for a serious painting...imagine an evil building that comes to life and people flee from it, while the military try to attack it...I was thinking on Times Square, NY, what do you guys think? ;)
