I want to make (air) rings behind my bullet, what you can see in the matrix. I have made an animation of a ring, but The effect i want is that every 10 frames or so a new ring appears behind the bullet. How do I do this. If I clone the animation of the ring, it is there in all the frames, and I want it to appear after 10 frames. PLease (I'm sorry that it isn't very clear, but It's soooo hard to explain for me:()

using max u can right click the ring >> properties, and one of the options is renderable visibilty - default set to 1.0. if u set this to zero, the object becomes invisible, and u can animate the spinner. would that do the trick? there's probably an easier way to do it, but that's the one i know.

thanks for the reply, but the idea I want is that every 10 frames a new 'air ring' appears. But if you model something in a specific frame (let's say a new ring here in frame 10) the ring is there in all frames. so???
you can animate the material to become transparent. Turn auto key on and play with the opacity of the material. 0 in the frames you want it invisible :) this way you have to make (colone) the material for every ring

okay thanks dude but isn't there a way to just let it appear in specific frame?
I read what Lillypusher suggested and it is better than what I said. I don't understant what is the problem with what he said, you should do it.
If you do what
Lillypusher said the rings will be there in every frame but you will see only the rings you want to see when you render it.

okay so now I have like 50 rings behind my bullet, but each ring is assign to one material. The idea is that every ring appears and fade away behind the bullet. the 49 rings for the bullet (with transparant = 0) all shown up slowly at the same time because of the one material :( and I think nobody wants to make 50 materials for each ring
Don’t animate the material. Read again what lillypusher told you. Animate the visibility for every ring in the object properties

divaid - animate the ring the way u want 2. then, right clck >> properties >> renderable visabilty. this is a spinner, defining how much the ring is visible. forget about the material, this is specific to the object. then, for the first 10 frames, turn the spinner to 0.0. from frame 10 to frame 20 dial the spinner to 1.0 - that would animate the "fade-in" and opposite for the "fade-out" - and just do that for every frame u need to c the ring.
hope i was more clear this time around.
