Here. We. Go.

I decided after long moments considering possibilities, since i have the extra geometry, that I may be able to pull off more with Rorschach since I don't need as much for facial detail.

Concepts later.

will she be wearing a see threw outfit?

Darbruce
16-07-2009, 08:15 PM
I'm in the process of doing a few different outfit designs, idk about anything sheer, but there could be a low-cut suit vest in the mix, we shall see.

PS - you crack me up ToE.

I think we need to report ToE for spamming... ;)

Remember that Rorschach was a 'religious' fanatic, so the outfit will need to fairly conservative, and not show off too much. He had a problems with Night-owl and Silk Specter's affair and the general moral decline of the world. I could see him as a woman in a nice pantsuit with a long over coat easy, but nothing revealing.

you caught me dhin, but to be honest, I want to see someone do a see threw outfit. Guess I'll have to do it.

I might drop the hat, and go with a half mask like Spider-woman wears, and make the coat more feminine.

hehe how did i not think about this...

Can't Wait to see the end result.

head concepts mix-and-match, I'm preferring the whole mask to the partials, but what say you guys overall? does she need hair? partial mask? or just a kickass hat?

If you go with no hair and full mask I'd go with hat#1. It has the most attitude with just the right feminine touch.

Otherwise My prefs - in order
Mask # 1
Hair # 3
Hat # 5

As far as color goes I like the colors in Hat # 1 pict

I say mask 2; no hair; hat 1

Yup, me too.

Whatever you do, you keep the Darby hat (bottomest left) far away from her. Only Habber McDasher (or whatever you called him) could pull that off, old friend;)

Other than that, full mask + hat is the way to go. Though I still think she'd have a ponytail or something pulled out behind her head. Unless she's bald*, she's gotta put her hair somewhere - I guess it could be in the hat, whichever one you end up going with, but whatever. A ponytail wouldn't obstruct the mask or hat at all, yet add a feminine touch to her silhouette regardless.

* - bald chicks are gross. Yea, I said it - so what? You wanna fight about it?

P.S. You should put that game up on your site or something, and link it so people can enjoy your madness-inducing games:D

may go full mask with a super duper sunday's best church hat and a pony tail down the back.

no hair, no hat just mask#3. AWESOMENESS

Darbruce

got the head model sheet done, and started on the overall trenchcoat. haven't decided on whether to include the hat (#1 wins) or not, and I'm having a bit of an artistic dilemma with the mask, I feel that cutting into Rorschach's "face" would undermine the essence of the character, but mask 3 is so tempting...

Yeah...There's something sexy in showing only her nose and lips, but it's the patterns in the mask that should express the characters emotions. Tough call. :hurt:

Hmmm... I gotta say 2, none, and one in order of category.

3 trench coats, rough color schemes, and the two heads which i'm torn between, gotta have pinstripes says I.

I'm feeling that last one as well.

Darbruce
22-07-2009, 06:12 PM
I think I'm keeping the hat and full mask.

and the last jacket is winning, so that's most likely the one I'll go with. Time to model sheet up and get down to the real business.

I would suggest, if its not too late; try a ski-mask type setup. Do the full mask but a cutout area around the lips. Would bring out the fem but keep the majority of the mask's structure and fullness. Also the swirling patterns next to the soft lips would be plesantly creepy.

Just my two cents.

Cheers~

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that Novian. Well, not totally. I think that it would look sexy as well, but I think it will retract too much from who Rorschach is. He's not hiding his face so much as freaking people out. When you can't see any structural guidelines to his face you are totally enveloped in the mask and what it does. If there were lips there everyone would see...well...a chick with a mask covering her eyes and nose rather than an ink blot test. Just my 2cents

just saw the movie last night, so all I have to say is:

I'm not locked up in here with you, your locked in here with me.

Darbruce
23-07-2009, 09:10 PM
I concur with ghost, the mask is his face, and any incursion into its structure undermines the character. Good thought though, Nov.

@ToE - Best. Movie. Quote. Ever.

Sorry to harp on your thread, but did they release all the extra footage that they took out of the theatrical version??

Does that mean we'll never hear the end of see through outfits?

Good choice with no. 3. Best contrast of the group.

as far as that movie is concerned, Dr Manhattan, needed to put some damn clothes on.

Darbruce
24-07-2009, 02:28 AM
as for the extra footage, ghost, I don't know about the director's cut of the film, I'd have to ask my ex-roomie, he just got it on blu-ray. but i don't think it was on the regular release.

Doc M needs clothes... Extra Footage on the Director's cut... Bruno!!! My innerchild is rocking in a barren corner of my psyche with his hands over his ears humming loudly atm.

OHKAY! nuf of that. As far as the director's release of Watchmen goes (i have seen it yet,) I know one of the releases is supposed to include the Black Frigate as a cartoon cut into the actual story they way it was in the actual comic. I'm not sure if it is a special edition where they did that or director's cut.

I think that entirely depends on the girl.

goast666
24-07-2009, 03:36 PM
I agree with Buzzy on this this one. Granted...britney spears is rather gross with or without hair...so yeah.

Darbruce
24-07-2009, 06:32 PM
Natalie would be hot even if she was scalded with cooking grease and then was in a tragic motorcycling accident on the way to the hospital. But I still concur with Buzzy.

Also, I leave for a week-long vacation tomorrow, so I prolly wont have any progress for a while. Keep a lookout for some on the 3rd or 4th.

Hope it's not too late to get my two cents in! Atleast maybe you can draw a wee bit of inspiration from my thoughts

I'd say full mask without a doubt. While the half mask allows you to add a bit more femininity, it also draws away from the character and the real sense of who Rorschach is. So I feel like the full mask is almost necessary to hold onto the connection

For color scheme, I think that the second one was the closest in terms of color, but I think a little more exploration would be beneficial. Maybe try some earth tones? get a little more brown in there perhaps?

And, back to bald girls, without hair Britney Spears looks like Agent 47

Haha, great concepts!

Darbruce
24-07-2009, 09:27 PM
I'll most likely revisit color schemes after the base mesh is completed. Definitely needs more work. Since Rorschach is mostly earth tones and darker colors himself, I was thinking along the lines of pastels and richer dark colors for a more feminine pizazz. Thanks for the input, though, I'll keep it in mind.

Ok, disturbing. I just now realized that Britney is the Kurgan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFfVaDFjeAM) from Highlander.
