View Full Version : THE Sculpting Challenge - 017 - Voting

The 017th Speed Sculpting Challenge final entries are in, and now it's time to decide on our 17th winner! This job rests on you guys - the participants and spectators (please see below to find out if you qualify to give a vote in this challenge!)
Here's all you have to do:
Check out the Speed Sculpt Challenge - 017 - Final Submissions (http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=67906) thread
Find your top 3 favourite entries and rank them from first to third, remembering that points will be given as folllows: 1st: 3 points, 2nd: 2 points, and 3rd: 1 point
Only the rank and names are required, and we prefer the thread to be kept clean of chatter and such - although please feel free to give reasons as to why you have chosen each of your top 3, and perhaps make some honourary mentions if you wish you could have voted for more
Voting Rules and Restrictions:
In order for your vote to be valid, your post count must be 50 or above. The only exception to this rule is if you have contributed a final entry yourself to the 016th challenge
If you want to vote but are not a contributor of this 016th challenge, you need to have been registered on the Threedy Forums for at least the last six months, as well as have 50 posts already to your name.
It goes without saying that all voters must look through each of the entries before posting their score, and only entries from the final submissions thread are valid.
There can no longer be ties between competitors, so in the case of a tie, the one with most 1st place votes will be considered the winner ( in the reluctant case of no 1st place votes for either, the one with most 2nd place votes wins; in the near imposssible case of no 1st or 2nd place votes for the tie, may God help us all ).
Don't vote for yourself - it's just not that cool! And you'll just annoy the dragons.
Deadline for all votes: 27th July 12:00PM GMT+0
There is just one week to vote. We will add up all the points and announce the winner shortly after the end of Voting (or earlier if the 3DT team see it fit to end the voting sooner - i.e. if there have been no votes for over 24 hours)
Good luck to all and happy voting!

1st:- KREFT - fantastic model, looks like something you would expect to see in quake :)
2nd:- bryzol - nice style and a clean sculpt, good work.
3rd:- Fenixy - very clean sculpt
Great work from all, some of the sculpts do look more like characters wearing armour instead of being part of there body so this has affected who i voted for.
good luck to all.

1. Fenixy - Just plain good, clean concept and excellent execution. I smile every time I look at it. The things you managed with the base mesh are inspiring.
2. bryzol - the best intersection of metal and flesh.
3. WildWire - on the verge of looking too much like a guy in a suit, but the modeling is just to good to pass over.
Hard choices all around. KREFT, Sagiarts and Goast almost got in there. Awesome contributions from everyone on this one. Roll the next one.

1- Fenixy I really like the head concept plus the torso muscles are sculpted flawlessly. I do also like a lot the other mechanical parts :D
2- 6 H2olt Twisted and well done! It really matches my taste for grotesque forms and sure is a great concept for an horror game! :D

1. Sagiarts - your sculpt has insanely amounts of detail. Very beutiful crafted and very "gears of war" I love it!
2. verechina . To me, your entry is pure genius! It has a very organic feel to it. The design is very unique, i totally dig it!
3. bryzol - a very simple idea, with a very good design. I really like your fine details and smooth, flat surfaces.
Also, good job everyone else! :)

1st - Fenixy - Reminds me of my childhood for some damn reason. I think I drew something like that back in the 5th or 6th grade maybe. Great execution, style and feel to the piece.
2nd - h2olt - I'm a sucker for the deformed. Great piece. missing the weapon and stand :(
3rd - wildwire - It's a statue!! I mean, I wouldn't mind that little bronze dude holding down papers on my desk :)

1. H2olt - Congrats, imho the most perverted and disgusting entry in this challenge. Good think he has no eyes, cos they will be screaming in pain instead of his mouth. It will be little hard to sleep tonight :-)
2. Darkmonk - love the design, the pose, the idea. Really nice, like humanoid AA gun. Tails on the end of every hand gives a lot personality to your creation.
3. Bryzol - Little bit relaxed face and I would thought Giger learned ZBrush. Great legs and chest and the lash is nice touch.
Congrats everyone on great job!

Quite a few entry's in this comp were very cool and well executed pieces. Some of them however did not covey the bio-mechanical aspect quite clearly enough. This has been a very cool comp, I am looking forward to the next one.

Thanks, I had limited access to my PC these days, and could come online from a friend's laptop. It worked out now, so things are back to normal. :)
