Hey all, have not competed in any of these yet and since I have just graduated college and want to build up more of a modeling portfolio this would be as good of contest as ever.

Hopefully I did not pick to ambitious/fan favorite of a character.

actually i went as a film student but fell in love with the digital arts. Still not too sure exactly what aspect I want to do for a living since I love it all, but I have been watching these low poly contests for a while now and have always wanted to participate but have never had the time.

Ok, this could be cool. You gonna try to model the cosplay or you got some idea different? You should definitely push some of the details farther than the girl did in her costume. More straps and buckles, and definitely has to have the full arm gauntlet.

As impressive as cosplay looks at first glance whenever i look closer I see all the corners they cut to actually build a costume out of everyday things. Make sure to go all out. good luck.

Just wanted to get in one last quick concept tonight. excuse the oddness of the bikini top. one breast is noticeably bigger and throws things off, so just imagine symmetry. sort of a yoko like look.

I did up a quick sketch over yours, hope you don't mind. Anyway. I think still think you're going a little too...whorish for her. Maybe it's just me, but I've never really been a fan of the heroin of the story being a whore.

Anyway, out of the 4 you did up I like 4 the most. Shows a bit of skin but not over doing it.

My idea is eh...I just think she needs more straps and her metal arms needs to be bigger if you ask me.

i do like what you've done with the buttons. i couldn't quite figure out where to go with them. i about to start the modeling process and i never quite follow my concepts so who knows how it will turn out. thanks for the input though, i greatly appreciate it. every comment helps

Nice fix there goast. I'd go with the first treatment from concept (d) and the legs from goast's idea and the feet from concept(c).

One thing I feel in missing from this concept in general is an interesting siloette. The way the cloth folds around the character in very important for this concept. It'll probably help in your modeling to get some of that across in the drawings. Notice the bunching of cloth around the leg in goast's drawing.

Gotta agree with Goast666 - Vincent Valentine is wrapped up in leather and a huge, Spawn-like cape. A female version of that wouldn't be so half-naked. Besides, the "sex object" look is so passé. That stuff might've flown in the Tomb Raider 1 days circa 1996, but we've moved past that. Alyx Vance and Jade and Samus Aran are what we're shooting for nowadays:)

Good luck man! And congrats on finishing school. How much did it cost you to go wherever you did, btw (if you don't mind me asking)? I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, it cost me 63k, and four years of my life. And y'know what? I learned WAAAAAY more here on 3DTotal in low poly comps and doing free tutorials. I'm still bitter because of that:D
