Hello,

My friend LukeZ gave me this model of a woman to play with and create photorealistic skin shader. My goal is to build photo like scene. This is what I have for now. Im useing 3ds max 2009 and mentaray. Skin shader is fast sss skin. Hair and Fur for hairs.

how abt the color maps. ? r u using simple colors or wt is ur method abt skin texture?

hey,

Im not sure what do u mean but Im using 5 difrent texture maps for epidermal subdermal diffuse bump and overall specular chanels. Texture is very simple made of photo, Im still looking for better texture.

i know its not your model but the hands look disturbing, something is wrong with the thumbs, and the nails are too thik and cast shadows where they shouldnŽ.t

subscribed - iŽm looking forward to see your skin shader progress and hope youŽll teach us in the end :D

nice texture, the eye seem a little big, maybe it the perspective. :D

new model, new textures and the result Im happy with:) I think I found out what is the secret of good skin shader

The shader is good but the model is, how to put it, strangely posed! Shoulders are pulled back and the left nipple is double the size of the right one. :)

The shader however is looking very good. You're the skin shader master! ^^

hehe thanks a lot:) But trully I dont fell like a master, I have still much to do, to be master:) But I found out what is the most importent in skin shader - textures! Not setup of readius weight and so on.

Why massive noise on the body yet no noise on the background?. At least make it consistant. The first image is compositionally and color wise, really weird but there are some elements I really like about it.

The second is so bizarre and messed up, but the skin does look okay. Textures help a lot in achieving good looking skin, but used straight out the box with no removal of light/shadow they looks positively awful.
