Hi, I've been around this forum for a while, but I was only watching. So I've decided to participate in this low-poly contest.

I'm a student in 3D, still learning a lot...

I'll try to make a female version of Abe from the Oddworld series.
I haven't work with ZBrush yet, there's not a better time then right now I guess.

For whoever is wondering who is Abe...Well it's this shady guy.

This is a quick sketch of what I might want, I'm gonna try and finish a concept drawing for tomorrow.

-Smaller feet, shoulders, forearms and hands for a more feminie look.
-More hair without a doubt, not sure about the hair cut, probably a pony tail but still with a length of hair going down the neck.
-Will get the tatoo that Abe has on his chest and make it a lower back tatoo.
-A "kind of tribal" necklace
-Add "leather laces" around the calves.
-Will definitely try to make a "girl head(face)"
-Yeah and no see trough hehe...

PS: Really great entries so far, it's kind of scary ^^, I really have hard work to do!

Try that drawing as a paintiver of the reference picture. The posture of abe is a big part of his character. There were also some female characters, mostly enemies, in the oddworld series. Try looking at some of them to see what females in the world might wear.

H2olt - I've tried to find pictures of feminine characters, but couldn't find any. And I want to have done the gender bend by myself, without "cheating", well without taking or being inspired by something that has already been made. And I will definitely try a quick paint over on the reference image, thanks for the advice.

Here's what I'm at now. I'm not really good in drawing so I'm still working on the head at the moment, but I have a pretty good idea of what I want it to look like.

I've done the head. Made more delicate traits, smaller nose, smaller eyes and a bit more high, more pale around the mouth.

For the hair, I went with the bang and ponytail. For the color, I've tried with "kinda dreads" striped orange and purple like the reference picture, but the pattern all over the head was just hallucinating, so I did the orange and the purple alternate on each "dread".

Ooh, Abe, huh? I never played the original OddWorld games, but I LOVED Stranger's Wrath on Xbox. I would love to see a female version of that badass, but this is a cool idea too:) So far it looks good, though you moved the markings from Abe's chest to the small of her back, and I'm not sure that's the best decision. Maybe you should try moving the markings around some - maybe paint it on the limbs somewhere. Just try a few different placements, 'cuz as it stands now that feature won't even get a chance to show when you look at her from head on. And since we all have to pose these guys at the end of the day, that's a lot that we'll see her from the front.

Yeah, you're right. And it's giving her a sexy look that is not really necessary too...
