Hello guys, for my character I picked Catwoman from "Batman" Here are some concepts for how the head might end up looking like of course I need your help so if you like one over the others please point it out.

I'd suggest not just focusing on catwoman's costume details but also on what she does. Think of what it means to be a cat burglar and what it might require in the way of gear and stuff. I only mention this because there is already a Catman in DC comics, and keeping the thief aspect in mind might help keep you on the way to something original.

As for the ideas you have here I like the round one the best but that's just because the round ones look the best from straight on, the other two might look better from a 3/4 view than the round ones. And because I've spent the last couple hour sculpting some round goggles (http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10355). On further thought steer clear of the 3rd one, it looks too much like normal shades. and #2 looks like it could use some work on the goggle strap design.

Thanks for the comment H2olt and yes I am keeping in mind the thief aspect of the original character in my opinion that's what makes the character who she is.

here is an update still roughing out stuff

I don't supposed there's any chance at all of you making him fat and keeping the costume exactly like the ones in the movies?

otherwise, looking pretty decent so far, I'd go with 3 for the goggles

lol sorry poopipe, but I think I'm gonna keep the fit feel to the character in the other hand that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Thanks for the comment.

here is a bit of an update on the torso.

Awesome sculpting bro :D. You know what would be funny is if he wore the catwoman out fit from Batman 2.

The sculpt looks very nice, you did a great job with the muscle groups and proportions and everything

My only criticism concerns the goggles. I'm not much of a comic book buff, so I don't really know how necessary they are to the overall costume, but I would recommend losing them all together. They don't really seem to go with the design you've made, and they tend to make it seem a little too goofy and awkward. But if you're set on using the goggles, I would say design number one, or perhaps developing some kind of cats-eye design.

Edragon: lol, thanks for the kind comment.

SnappedStrings:thanks, Yeah I've been thinking about loosing the goggles too and that could be a very strong possibility right now we'll see. :dunno:

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been busy getting drunk and working :hurt:. Here is a small update on the face, changed the features a bit and tried a new mask your opinion is requested please.

Looks good, but the lips are a little funny. I think the lips need to be slightly bigger, and the upper lip needs to come out more. Other than that, looks great

nice model

though you should be carefull not to make the ears to "horny" else it looks more like a devil than a cat ;)

SR_6274:Thanks for the reply dude :D

bb0x:Thank you for your comment and yeah I do know there is already a Catman, but the character I am using for the gender bender is actually Catwoman :smug:

Here this might help me explain myself better.

beautiful job so far on the model. love the style.

my only crit is something someone already mentioned that the ears look more like horns than ears, and specifically do not have the feel of being cat ears.

just as the picture that you uploaded above of cat woman, a cat's ear starts more toward the center of the head and the opening faces more forward than to the side.

Man that looks great. I'm curious why you didn't fix the ears though?

Looking good

Thanks for all the comments guys, sorry I don't have any updates on the character, but I've been busy with work.

ianchaos & SnappedStrings: yeah I gotta fix the ears for sure, now that I go back and look at them and I'm not really feeling it. will be fixed on the next update.

srk723:I was thinking about that when I did the mask, but hopefully will take care of that thanx ;)

This look great... What technique did you use to model mask?

xxxcubanxxx
13-08-2009, 08:08 PM
G-khan:Thanks for the comment, the mask was pretty simple you

-mask the desired area
-on the subtool pallet select extract

it will place it into a new subtool which you can sculpt on.

Nice work so far! Can't wait to see this one further on :)

My thoughts on the ears were that they looked somewhat like an angry cat how they flatten them. Front/rear on they've got quite a lovely shape.
