That's a hell of a lot of details.

Can you post a clay render so it's easier to read volumes?

My comp would probably crash with a model like that. How many polys so far and how many buildings to you plan on making?

Thanks man!!

the clay render will be left for tuesday as it is holydays here in brazil, and the model is at my work, for now the building is sitting on about 3.5M tris, and the initial project is to model a place called Sé square, there is just one building with more details than this one, the rest of them are pretty simple.

As I am doing this project alone, it will take a while, but, with a cluster of 16 eight cores xeons it shouldn´t be a problem to render.

3.5M tris, yeah, my comp is very likely to crash but with 16 octocores you're OK I guess. :)

So this is a professional work then. Is it for an exhibition/documentary or something?

yes it is, it was my initiative to do this to win a client, so I am doing it all by myself =/ its a lot of work.

It will be for a virtual tour (stereoscopic) on a digital museum we have here in São Paulo.

Staggering details, absolutely love it! I think i'd have to finish here with my system spec, and you're going to fill the scene up with more buildings yet. I'm really really looking forward to seeing how this one progresses, especially when you get onto the lighting and texturing/rendering side of things. It really inspires me, makes me wanna building some buildings myself but I know I couldn't put in as much detail as you've got here lol.

Wonderful job so far, looking forward to more updates and progress :)

Kind Regards

CG.

looks excellent. i think though there is only one flaw. the area underneath the balcony on the first floor (screenshot 2 of your first post), the extrusions that come out to make a w that sort of resembles the wonderwoman logo. the edges seem way too smooth on that. it seems as if you may have over-chamfered in many areas.

and here are the clays, as promised.

a quick question regarding the process of work - do you have blueprints of the buildings or just good quality photographs to make your models from?

hope you're square progresses faster than anticipated, since the foundations shown here are looking good.

Model is cool, and details are awsome.
But the arc looks unsmoothed
