View Full Version : 3DMax: Multiple hinges (warning: newby question!)

Hi everyone! I've been using 3DMax 6 for static illustrations for a while, but know I'm currently working on a project where I have to produce a hinged parallelogram, like in a Pantograph:

I have a feeling this must be incredibly simple, but I`ve been using Reactors hinge tool, and adding to hinges to a single object seems to cancel one of the hinges out. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

You could use a bone system. Just align the bone pivot points to the objects you're using, and parent the objects to them. If you setup a ik chain with the bones they should move correctly.
