Keep all questions in this thread

Topic: Hero

Idea: With mythical creatures of all kinds on a rampage, destroying everything we hold dear, there is only one thing we can do. Fight Back. But who among us is capable, strong enough to stand where countless have fallen. We need someone courageous enough to walk alone on a path leading them against thousands to almost certain death, but able to return, victorious.

We need a HERO.

Requirements:

Your job if for this challenge is to depict a Hero in his or her heroic moment. This could be anything from them leaving their family and heading into war, or returning home from battle. You want your image to tell a story without words. Sketches are fine for your works in progress, but the final image needs to be fully rendered.

Deadline:

Monday 11:59 pm (GMT) November 30th (use the time zone thread to make sure your done in time)

Deliverables :

All entrants are required to provide the following in the final entry:
- A work in progress (WIP) sheet
- A final image

WIP Sheet

A WIP sheet is a compilation of images showcasing your creative process, from the initial sketches to the final image.

-No teams or groups – everything must be made by one person.

-Keep gore and nudity to a decent level, no explicit scenes.

**Winners may be asked to cooperate in an interview about themselves and their work, and provide detailed ‘making of’ articles accompanied by high-resolution work in progress stills for 2DArtist Magazine after the competition.

So, everything must be digital - no handmade (pencil, pastels, etc)?

Well, it's time to invest to proper tablet

you can draw it by hand, then scan it, or take a picture. That makes it digital, right.

One more question the hero, does it have to be human?

BiG ToE-3DT
02-11-2009, 08:41 PM
nope. War breaks out on all planets and someone has to fight back.

Awesome. Finally, not only an awesome topic, but an awesome payoff and more than enough time to complete the project. This will be epic.

Now all I need is an idea.

Oh might actually be able to do something for this. Plus I haven't drawn a fully rendered illustration in a while.

Cheers.

Is there still a time limit or can we use as much time as long as we meet the deadline?

BiG ToE-3DT
03-11-2009, 10:45 PM

Hello, I am speed painting beginner (meaning I have never tried speed painting), so I would like to ask... what is the time limit here? Do I need to water the pencil so that paper does not ignite? :D

BiG ToE-3DT

what kind of paper are you using.
