I decided to go with a fantasy knight. He is a highly decorated French Nobleman and commander of all the king's armies.
I plan on making him look like a pile of ridiculous ornate armor.
His full name and title:
Maréchal Général des Camps et Armées du Roi Gustave-François-Henri-Antoine Laurent de la Tours d'Aragon, Duc de Château de Saint-George-de-Beaumont, Chevalier de Ordre de La Fleur de Noir
(Please note: I only have minor training in the French language, so most of these names are made-up and are likely improperly used)
He used to be a great warrior but his age and extravagant lifestyle have made him soft. While he has actually slain some terrible beasts in his prime, those days are long gone and his monster "slaying" expeditions now are a farce. He sends out a dozen or so of his best hunters and warriors. Once they have killed the monster, Gustave will come in to pose triumphantly with the body while his court artists paint his portrait.
His soldiers mockingly call him 'Le Mer de Fer,' or 'Sea of Iron,' because of the absurd amount of armor he wears.

in fact, there are several title in the name, they cannot be Duke and knight all at once, and Field marshal as title and above general, they cannot have two all at once here is what it would be needed :
Maréchal des Camps et Armées du Roi Gustave-François-Henri-Antoine Laurent de la Tours d'Aragon, Duc de Château de Saint-George-de-Beaumont, Commandeur de l'Ordre de La Fleur de Noir
your concept is really interesting, I am going to follow this thread :)

Oh wow thanks Chris.
He is going to have complicated ornate armor, so I wanted him to have a complicated ornate name too.

Buzzy: Can't wait to see this. Your work is awesome! Also, Noir means Black which is cool, "the Black" but you might consider, just a thought, "Jaune" means "yellow". So Gustave de Jaune could be something else they call him when safely out of ear shot. :P
Cheers~

Thanks for the idea Novian, but the last part of the name is "Commandeur de l'Ordre de La Fleur de Noir"
It's actually a title, not a name, and it means "Commander of the Order of the Black Flower"
So "The Black" is not his nickname, it's part of the name of the order of knights he belongs to

the base design looks cool. The armor is looking heavy.

I'm reading Don Quixote for the second time now; knock his teeth out and stick a basin on his dome and you're one step closer...
Seems you're taking a different style approach, and I like it alot. Quadcore...

The helmet looks great. If the rest of the model has this look to it, it is going to be awesome.

great job on helmet! Though I think it's better to keep nose area straight.

Oooh, that helmet is looking pretty sharp there sir. Really like the colors so far.
I might have to agree with Martin, I wouldn't really expect the armor of someone who's all show and no go to be showing too much damage, nothing says he didn't trip down the stairs or something tho.

I should note that the materials on the helmet are based on Sathe's Ironman matcaps...slightly tweaked to my own liking.

Another update. Not much new, just showing everything I have so far all combined. Lets hope I can maintain this momentum.
