View Full Version : JB - Hero - Muc cel Mic
steampunk hero saves the day, poac:dance:
Hello, it would be to bad to not give a go for this cool new challenge so here is my little hero by the name Muc cel Mic ( an old childrens storybook title ) he is a monster hunter that will save the humanity by the evil giant farting dragons, oh yeaa, and he will have a stupid companion allso that kinda screws his sneaking plans, i'l get more in the story when i got new ideas :D, until than here is a concept and a sketch, at the begining i was thinking about a mongolian type of warrior with a golden hammer, it woulded be cool to say IT's HAMMER TIME and smack the monster in the head, so i end up with a steampowered armor, and i think an electric hammer or so ( i'l think about this more, if you got any ideas feel free to post them :) )

Hey JB! Long time no see ;) Love your "childlike" designs, they always fit nice with any story! And it seems you have improved your painting skills, this is very good to see!
Keep it up man! =D

Awesome character and composition JB. Maybe you scale the dragon up a bit. I think the greater size difference between the hero and dragon would make it even more humorous.

This is wonderful! I love the texturing you have going on with the dragon. Can't wait to see it all come together.
some changes, i have changed the little dude's head position and the helmet, i use this reference (http://www.instructables.com/files/deriv/FE8/CIB7/FQWVUQ9N/FE8CIB7FQWVUQ9N.MEDIUM.jpg) for the helm but make it with metal and stuff...

Beautiful! I had originally thought of doing a more cartoony image for my piece, but didn't think I could pull it off as a painting. You, however, did so brilliantly. Nice work.

sweet!! but wheres the dragon's i pod and left over cheese burger ? :D
thank you guys :) and thanks for the advices, i'm noting on a paper... so "no slamming the teddy bear on the face (maybe on the ribs it leave no marks muhahaha), dragon would be smashed on the face (we need someone to clean the place after), crazy characters and fat dragons make people smyle ( good to know in future drawings :D), where's the dragon's ipod and left over chese burger...(damn when did you see me taking those, i thought no one was there... damn)
thanks for the great feedback guys, i'm thinking to darken the scene a bit or ading some bright colors in some areas... but we will see :)

if i would take up on your painting and try to recreate it - they would call it slow as **** painting, instead of speed painting
loving the detail and overall feel
slight detail, dragons left upper arm should be bigger, when compared to the right arm that's passing below his head to his left side - when you compare those two, either one should be enlarged a bit, or the other downsized, but due to positioning i guess making one bigger is easier
they where out of big tedy bears so i had to make him one little arm lol
