View Full Version : Myths and Legends - Sculpting "Creature of Legend" - Public Voting Open

Freespace-3DT

Voting Time has come!

Here's how it's going to work, initially there will be a public vote to decide the top 5 places.

To qualify for voting you must have at least 50 posts to your name or be a competitor of the challenge you are voting in (must be the same stream too, so a matte painter cant vote in speed modelling for example, unless he has over 50 posts)

Please choose your top 3, your first place gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2, and 3rd gets 1. We will use these final entry threads for public voting also.

Public voting will be open for 1 week and will end on the 7th of the month at 2400 GMT.

Then the top 5 will be judged by a panel (to be announced) to decide the final places, this will happen during the second week of the month and end and winners will be announced on the 15th!

Ok people, get voting and good luck to everyone!!

THE Sculpting Challenge 020: Final Submissions

As the thread title suggests, your final submissions go here. Please keep this thread nice and clean - no chit chat please, just the image(s) of your final entry ( and the wireframe of your base mesh(es) ), with a description if you like to accompany it.

You must use the file attachment function (go to Go Advanced > Manage Attachments) when displaying your image(s) in this thread to qualify, otherwise your entry may be disqualified by a Threedy moderator - you've been warned!

Important!

As you all no doubt know, among a ton of other stuff, the first place winner will also receive a 300$ 3d print of their sculpt, from Shapeways. However, you will need to upload your model to Shapeways (http://www.shapeways.com/), before the judging begins, to qualify.

In other words, along with your final sculpt, get this sorted as well in due time. Otherwise you might miss out on a beautiful print in case you win first place.

Hi!

Here's my finished work. Of course I would like to make a few more
characters till the end of this contest, but it's sad to say that my
plans couldn't come true since I need to go in to hospital for 2
weeks. That's why I wouldn't be able to stay in contact on forum and
my next posts would probably appear by the end of the contest.

"The Wendigo was gaunt to the point of emaciation, its desiccated skin pulled tautly over its bones. With its bones pushing out against its skin, its complexion the ash gray of death, and its eyes pushed back deep into their sockets, the Wendigo looked like a gaunt skeleton recently disinterred from the grave. Unclean and suffering from suppuration of the flesh, the Wendigo gave off a strange and eerie odor of decay and decomposition, of death and corruption."

So many stuning sculpts here, It was realy hard to choose only three, so after selecting fev best sculpted I've had to go back in my memory and choose those wich have made bigest impresion on me during the challenge. Here they are!

Biano3d - I think that this is the most oryginal sculpt here (from another story than all others if you know what I mean)
delavega - The faun looks very natural (I think that this is the way fauns looked if they ever existed :) )
Baron3d -I like the design of the creature.

Congrats to all participians and good luck guys! Nice challenge!
