Suirebit-3DT

Voting Time has come!
Here's how it's going to work, initially there will be a public vote to decide the top 5 places.
To qualify for voting you must have at least 50 posts to your name or be a competitor of the challenge you are voting in (must be the same stream too, so a matte painter cant vote in speed modelling for example, unless he has over 50 posts)
Please choose your top 3, your first place gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2, and 3rd gets 1. We will use these final entry threads for public voting also.
Public voting will be open for 1 week and will end on the 7th of the month at 2400 GMT.
Then the top 5 will be judged by a panel (to be announced) to decide the final places, this will happen during the second week of the month and end and winners will be announced on the 15th!
Ok people, get voting and [b]good luck to everyone!!

Would be nice to have a 'Competitors must vote, but can't vote for themselves' rule.. Or does everybody vote for their own piece?

Hi, there are my prefered ones :
#1 - Matohan - I love this feeling of the unreachable dragon's lair, and that snowy and stormy weather. The two horsemen are great too. You should have worked a bit more on the foreground snow on the rocks...
#2 - Eyecon - That's what I call a matte painting! Nice atmosphere, and peaceful composition.
#3 - Unity95 - I do really love your mountain in the background.

1-Vellum
2-Dges
3-Valley
First place for Vellum because there I can feel the dragon inside, Dges for lightning and atmosphere (maybe you shouldn't have put a dragon there), and Valley because I like the concept and the humoristic tone, it look like one of the guy is asking to the other one: "Hey! Maybe we should go back...?" and the other one answer: "Nah! Let's go in!"
Those from Denniz and Andreasrocha are quite awesome, but I'm not judging the technique tonight :) I can't feel da dragon inside.
I also liked matohan's, KerAttila's, my originality prize go to YaRa.
It was really hard to decide myself, so much interesting works...

1. Andreasrocha, very artistic, excellent execution, cool pov.
2. Matohan, simple but effective. Love it
3. Denniz, same quality as Andreas, but you have some texture problem(some strange color pops
Eyecon, cool work my friend, but didn't feel "dragon lair" until i saw detail shoots.
Kernattila, very cool, like the idea.

2) Matellis
3) MileDream
I had a hard time placing these three. In the end, first place was between Denniz and Matellis. I went with Denniz because of the mood in his piece. Technically speaking, however, Matellis' piece was the superior matte painting. It just didn't provide enough mood. Great paintings, though. I was really impressed with this competition.

Hi there, so....
1/ Miledream, for the skills, the technique, the originality too, I like the capsule space-ship, that make sense, that bring the Sci-Fi side just quietly..... nicely done
2/ Unity95, for the originality, but I got too subjective on the color tones, It works great on the scene, the comp is good, but I prefered the warm and mystic hue on Miledream's one.....
3/ Eyecon, I rather like the first concept sketch, but the final is quite nicely executed.....
Ther was also Denniz and Matellis, but in Denniz's one I didn't feel the dragon that was not that, and Matellis' one was quite THE one BUT unfortunetly, the dragon looks too much paint or draw and the contrast that it gives to the scene wich set is quite perfect of realism make me troubled, that doesn't match.... the dragon's on the up right of the comp was cool, they match because they're "silhouette", they match in the atmospheric pers.... why a big dragon in front?????? lol
See ya....
Good luck....

For those who voted for me a HUGE THANKS!
You guys have a point, But my matte was more on taking the idea and concept to a different level, I know everyone would jump on the idea of Rock and spikes and cliffs... for me that has been all and done. I want a twist and a story to tell at the same time a huge contrast. As you can see my matte is all serene yet if you look deeper you would see that the dragon has destroyed the city (recently) and made it his own lair. That's the twist.
now enough of that LOLz...
My judging is based on execution and story telling
Here is my vote and small critique:
1. matohanan : well done you got the idea right and the ice dragon is a nice twist, only comment is, the snow is a bit to painterly for me and the idea that its a blizzard environment, I would have loved to se more snow covering than usual.
2. Matellis : Well executed, amazing angle, the only thing that separates me is the tree. I felt distracted somehow and my eye keeps on going back to that spot.
3. Adreas Rocha : Amazing work as usual, consistent with your amazing gallery, its just a bit too painterlly for me though sorry
Denniz has a good cocept too, unfortunately looking at the threads, Andreas got to that concept first that's why you fall to 4th for me. (sorry)
Mateja : no problem man, each to his own opinion :)
1. eyecon
2. matellis
