This is a rough layout for my painting. I need to do some more to it before its ready to paint but I'm getting some flak about not posting it. I plan to do more anatomy work and I will most likely change the appearance of the giant.
cool idea, though you should try to change the pose of the hero to make his action more dinamic (you can look at some cartoons like justice league or even comics), have fun :) i'm realy anctious to see more updates

Here is my adjusted sketch. I worked to show size and better anatomy. I took some of the feedback I received (thanks very much btw,) and changed the composition a bit.
I will give it a once over before painting but I think this is close to what I'm going for. So far the guy looks like he's gonna get completely owned by the giant but what are ya gonna do huh?

Great shot, with great composition! One advice: custom or textured brushes may be the right thing to this drawing =D
Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys,
Resenhista, I have never done a digital painting or even a fantasy drawing before. I know how to make and custom brush in PS but Im not sure what purpose it would serve. Would you elaborate on what you think I should use a custom texture brush for?

Well I started painting. Right now its more about experimenting to see how to do it and not so much a final look.

Nice to see color! Don't be afraid to start with big bold strokes and then start working to refine. I believe it's important to get color on everything before finishing anything. I think we all have a tendency to want to do that final level of rendering to soon. This is a great start.

I agree the color are soft right now, try use a harder brush to start with. :D
