I'm gonna start this one a bit different, I don't usually write down ideas, but is helping me visualize my concept better along with my reference pictures.

Thats exactly the way i started to imagine the lone wanderer in my head:D
The only difference, that i was thinking about a night vision, on his neck:D
I vote for high heels, if its voteable:D
I hope you will post some sketches soon, im curious about the girls body/design/outfit :)

UPDATE - Started working on the base mesh for her body, this is my first female sculpt in zbrush so this is a learning process for me as I go along. If you guys have some suggestion I would love to hear them.

The model is looking good so far mate, though some of the details look like they could use a little positional tweaking. The mouth in particular looks a bit too low right now unless you are going to age the body to around 50 years old

Hmm... just a few proportional issues.
As you said yourself, this is your first zbrush female, which shows
there are many masculine features on this sculpt.
For one, the head seams a bit small (from a realistic perspective). And the shoulder muscles seem a bit too large (masculine). Also, the neck seems just a weeeeeee bit too long.
Also, the abdomen seems a bit too broad, but this might be just in relation to the size of the head/neck.
And lastly, and this is just my personal opinion, but do away with the big perky anime tits. I might be alone on this, but the last time I felt a booby, it sagged a bit. I haaaate the big basketball ones people use. Again, just personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.
I like your concept, lots of good ideas there. The color scheme is a bit weird to me. Light blue and pea green just clash really hard. Maybe some more color comps will help you find a better match.
Good luck and keep up the great work!

What?! the body seems pretty impressive and i would have to disagree with everything you said except the head part. that could use a little work. This person probably wants her a little masculine cause of the theme "ARMY OF ONE"

I think every critique you may get on anything ever should be taken with a grain of salt. It seems that the poster had their own idea of where they were going and the critic was tossing in some ideas to (if nothing else) try to inspire some after thought on what had already been done.
While, yes, the model so far has great promise, it never hurts to take a look at your piece from another angle. I think being able to take someone's criticism and turn it around to where it makes your work even better, then more power to the critics!
I know that when I get criticism, I get a burning desire to prove them wrong if they aren't being constructive, or to really look into what someone has to say and respect what they say and at least give it a thought.
I appreciate the abrasiveness of criticism and I think that everyone should take a little from everyone.
Keep up the good work cuban, and thanks for the help in my thread.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys.
Yeah I totally agree about the head, I whipped it out last night in about 30 mins so yeah I know it definitely needs some fine tunning, as for the body the masculine look is a bit intentional as mentioned I'm going for a fit character & my work always has this comic book anatomy going on. I'll definitely give all the suggestions a try keep them coming, thanks a lot.

hey I gotta say you did almost everything in the right way now!
...still there are some odd masculine features somewhere... I guess around the hips now... but still I might be wrong (I use to check features hiding everything but the part I'm interested in and the hips and the waist are somehow strange...)
btw one thing that I use to teach a lot in my design classes is that the pose is one of the biggest difference between sexes! So as long as you are satisfied with proportion the feminine pose will eventually do the rest!
keep on rocking!
SnappedStrings
05-12-2009, 02:41 PM
Hey wow, that looks much MUCH better.
And because you're going for the comic book style, all my other criticism's can be disreguarded, because you pretty much nailed it.
head may still need just a very slight size increase. It's hard to tell with her being cut at the knees like that.
Looking good, keep it up

Very nice start on the model! I like that she's built, but still delicate in her features. The only thing now that I would adjust is the face, making it a bit fuller would make her look even more feminine. But, if you want a hint of masculine in her, I would leave it.
Interested to see this progress. :smug:

good start man, nothin much to critique so far, the body looks great! really toned. I agree with terrabite about making her facial feature more femanine though and the size of the head doesn't bother me. can we see the full model and a side view too?
xxxcubanxxx
05-12-2009, 11:56 PM
Thanks for all the replies guys I really appreciate them, I'm pretty happy with the model proportion wise right now. I haven't paid much attention to the area below the knee since it's gonna be covered up by the gear. So I'll soon move onto the clothing, accessories, etc.
as requested here are different views...

1) my english vocabulary is kinda limited...(I'm italian...)

Coming along nicely, though I think the hips could do with being a little wider around the top of the legs
Mr.fE
12-12-2009, 03:50 PM
on second thought I feel like the head is too small compared to the whole build of the body...
And I agree about the hips!
xxxcubanxxx
13-12-2009, 07:03 PM
thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll take another look at the head and also see what I can do about the hips don't want to stress this part too much because then she's gonna start looking like a hoochie mama. :haha:

Well there goes my project, I made the bad decision of moving from zbrush 3.1 to 3.5 R3 and now that I had almost all my model retopologized I start noticing some scale issues when exporting from zbrush...sigh don't think I'll have time to figure this out and finish in time so I wish you guys best of luck on finishing and can't wait to see your end results.
Lesson learned...:)
Martin_x
31-12-2009, 02:38 PM
Had this problem too.
In tool pallet on the bottom there are export properties. Just make sure scale is set to "1" and X,Y,Z offsets are "0".
buzz001
31-12-2009, 02:54 PM
Sorry to hear this man. I was looking forward to the model. I Know that I wont have all the textures done in time but I want to finish it for me and I'll probably post it with all the details from Zbrush as is. This is why I'm staying away from upgrading for a while once I'm 100% comfortable with 3.1 I wont upgrade to 3.5 R3.
xxxcubanxxx
31-12-2009, 03:06 PM
Thanx Martin_x yeah I tried something similar, but I'll give a try again today when I get home or tomorrow.
Yeah buzz I was really looking forward to finishing up too, but I will sometime.
