well i really like this idea, but not sure how to paint sky so i thought i'd do some practice. here's a pic i did tonight, i want my actuall to be more apocalyptic and intense, but i'll get there eventually.
i sorta have a concept of the character in an nbc suit but i need to get more ideas & inspiration before i sketch out any concepts.

ps: nice work on last month's paint everybody... but I'll get my revenge :evil:

wow just learned about plague doctors, creepy as hell masks and outfit. check them out if you haven't heard of them. i think i might do twist off of this...we'll see.

aight so i went more from desert-like atmosphere to Mars. starting to fill in the scene... for some reason i'm procrastinating on making the person but i'll get to it eventually.

yeah throw in some futuristic like building or maybe you can add some blow up UFO in the ground, too make it look like There a big space war going on and these are earth last Min's left or another planets last Min's :D

I'll update soon, hopefully within 24 hrs, but just letting you guys know i'm just making the atmosphere mars-esque, no aliens, still earth. I do like the idea of including some futuristic buildings etc. I'll see what i can come up with.

It's turning on really good. I'm also waiting the next one.
Maybe I would erase the top left group of clouds and darker a bit this zone, because it doesn't add anything to the composition and confuse the view.
Like the atmosphere, I'm jealous, this is the kind of background I would like to work on, making the character, because I kinda suck for background...

Nice atmosphere and buildings! My advices about this?

Try to make a mirage, you know...close to the horizon, that will surely add to the drawing! And lighter colors will add some depth to the location (but not too much light ;) )

This is getting good, can't wait to see the rest!

Washka - thanks, i really tried to focus on the background which now has given me a little difficulty thinking of the character, but i think i'll work it out.
Resenhista - i like the ideas of the lighting and the mirage, i'll try both and see how that mirage turns out :)

still adding in elements to fill up the composition, i'll try and get an update by tomorrow.

wow... i'm on a friend's ****ty comp right now & the entire land looks really dark, is it the same for you too? on my screen it's a LOT lighter than i see it here... just got this comp so i want to make sure that you guys see what i do.

The land is a little dark. But as soon as you add your figure and little high light the mood should look nice.

It's getting better. The top side of the dark cloud is sharp, maybe some more blur there? Your new building get my eye's attention (right side), maybe you should try to hide it a bit with some atmosphere?
