I am interested in the story?
The times I nearly got shot by weapons were back when the white house in Russia was attacked when the soviet union pretty much fell (well, it was dismantled officially later, but that's when in reality.) I was just a bit too nearby, the first time the window underneath where I stood was shattered by a bullet at about a metre lower than I was standing, and the second time some really big projectile missed me by maybe 1,5 metres at most when they forbade us to stand in the front-facing windows (after that window was shot) and I decided to hang out of the side-facing windows to get a better view of what was going on... :haha:
Been really lucky, I guess. Over a 100 people got killed then, they still commemorate it.
As for the past life story, it's just really weird. I'd seen it in a sort of meditative dream-like state, and I'd not told anybody or anywhere, just written a line in my black book about it and dismissed it as too much fantasy... Later mom went to this psychic and she says, well, your daughter was a German young man who got killed in the middle of the 20th century by a bullet, proceeded to describe some elements. She said it was why I was having all these headaches.
And in the dream/vision/whatever I got shot in the head.
Except it was weird, because in the dream/vision, there were a few seconds after the bullet impacted where I fell over with my face straight in the mudd, quite unpleasant.
It's weird because it felt so real you could smell smells and feel wetness and such, not anything like an ordinary dream. And from a dream, you always have this moment of snatching up, waking up, where it's like you float to the surface of a swimming pool from the bottom up, and this wasn't the case here.
And it's weird because I feel about the German language almost like about Russian, my mother tongue - it's painfully different but somehow really homely. And I remember once, long ago, we were driving through southeastern Germany and I remember thinking, "that's where I died..." and then I realized what I thought and went, WTF?!
And back when I was little and saw the Nazi flag in color for the first time, I thought "That what unites us and that's good for us," and then had the sense to figure out that hey, that's the bad guys' flag!
I'm not saying it really happened. I just think it's weird.
It's funny to make me a Russian of Jewish descent in this life though, if I was a Nazi in my last one. :smug:

Jeez guys, now I know for sure you don't really know what weapons are really about. Ask the people in Bosnia, Iraq and Africa, those who had their brothers, fathers or mothers killed by a gun. I'm sure they could tell you about it.
When was the last time you have see a war battled with the fists? Weapons are war; as long as you feel more powerfull holding one, its for sure you're gonna use it. And hunt, my dears, its an absoleet thing for almost 100 years. Hunt is a necessity; if you do it for pleasure its just plain cruel. And if you tell I'm a stiff and that its ok to run around defensless animals with a shot gun just because its so darn cool to kill them for fun, well, I do have a rised brow about that. In my country we use to start pre-military training when we were 14. I shoot my first gun right about then. So I'm against guns... If you tell me when a gun brought something good to human kind, maybe I'll reconsider. We are caught in a viciouse circle: we need guns to protect ourselfs against other guns. If you ask me, its just plain stupid. We should start using the brains we have instead of trying to blow them off.
And lol Sessy, I was about to get shot the same as you in 1989 when a bullet ricoshet out of my house wall, right near the window I was standing. I remember feeling excited like it was somekind of cool adventure. But then again, I was just a child then. Guess I didn't had a good grasp of the concept of my mortality.

Haha, I really hope you are Vegan because if you think hunting is barbaric but having an assembly line that cuts the throat of an animal that has been feed nothing but grain and steriods with minimum exposure to the enviroment and herded like "cattle" is not barabaric in some way, your logic is flawed by your blindness to the sport. If you think that just because I have a firearm in makes my ***** hard and I am consumed by the erge to go kill, then you my friend are truly the one that scares me. Is that what went throught your head when you fire the rifle? WOW. Battle with fists? I thought you wanted us to use our brains. That is how we came up with fire arms. If you want to outlaw something that truly causes most of the deaths around the worlld maybe we should start with religon and the cause of the issues. Man has killed for power gains for a very long time.
Hunting
I never hunted in my entire life. In Norway, the government gives out quotas to the registered hunting teams in different areas of the country to keep the elk population stable, and I don't really mind it because the meat is actually eaten too! It's not in any way less humane than slaughtering a cow that has spent its entire life in a 2 square meters booth.
Guns in general
In my opinion guns ahve nothing to do in civil homes unless they are intended for controlled hunting purposes. And you don't need a Desert Eagle to kill a moose. You don't need a gun to protect yourself on the street, make that you didn't need a gun to protect you on the street, until some smartasses found out they could make a bunch of money distributing them to comon folks, but thats another subject. Guns have in my opinion nothing to do among "common" people at all. Guns are created to kill, dismember, damage, destroy... they're just another potential death tool (people kill people, guns just make it a lot easier!) if they arent used where they are supposed to be used. Now it might seem like I'm contradicting myself since I own 3 myself (untill I quit my job that is), and it might sound like I think I'm "better" than other because I think I should be allowed to have one but not others, but then again I need DO it for my and my coworkers, as well as many people we encounter's safety. Tree hugging just doesn't solve problems no matter how hard you try.

I agree we do not need them. There are a lot of things we do not need, motorcycle, private planes, knives other than cooking utensiles, but I do enjoy to shoot and collect fire arms. I am glad I live in a place it is legal. Maybe I am just more responsible but I am glad I legally have the choice.

man I wouldn't have asked this question about the gun if I knew what a crazy argument would have ensued...
I see that lots of good points have been stated. personally I prefer shooting guns in a game so it has no consequences. If one day i'm faced with a real gun, or holding a gun in my hands, I would just get as far as possible, unless I was in a shooting range, just for fun... still, I think that people who had lots of experience with guns can be either really smart and knowledgable about their potential and uses (like knut for example), or they can be outright dangerous.
BTW swords may be better in a symbolic way, but they're far worse when people are killed by them.

@RickStefani - its ok being a smart ass, but at least try to read what I've said. Hunt as a necessity is understandable - we need to eat. Its hunt as SPORT I don't get it. And don't be a hypocrit about animals as long as you eat them. Ever took care of a cow you had to kill just because your kids are starving? No? I'm surely surprised:( And I never wondered about your ****. But its clearly you felt yourself targeted if you mentioned it.
@Josiah - yeah, I do prefere a sword because if I get killed in a battle its because I fought a more skilled enemy. Its a small thing about honor and the better warrior, things lost to today mentality. Its clearly you don't understand that. And I say Iwould prefere a sword, not that I OWN one.
@Knut- yes sure, tree hugging didn't solved anything. Neather did owning guns. Neather wagging wars. Because weapons and wars were never really about common soldiers; were always about politics and greed and money. And I know things aren't black and white eather but black and white never bothered me, its the grey line that scares me. And you know what, I don't own guns, never did, never will. I would fight if NECESSARY - for my familly, for my country - if agressed. But I would never buy a gun just to have something to show around or shoot squirrels.
And if owning guns its a pride and a privilege I guess I'm glad I don't live with your notion of liberty.

Yes, I do respect your feelings. But when you put your feelings online don't expect everyone to like them. You can like the guns as much as you want and I can hate them as much as you like them; This doesn't stoped us to be friends as long as we didn't voice our personal preferences; the thing is you guys made your opinion heard and I replyed with my own. I can understand you like guns. Guns do have a certain apeal to all man. Maybe its warrior nature; maybe its something else. You guys ADVERTISED guns on a public, opened thread that should not have anything to do with this topic. I just voiced my conviction. Then someone said something like: "owning guns is good, not liking them is stupid". Do I make sens so far? I could have erased the post from the begining; I considered you have the right to talk just as I do. But I was quite unpleasantly surprised by Rick's "comments, not to mention the way he put it. Does CIVILIZED work in the same dictionary he uses for GUNS? I didn't understood what his genitalias had to do with that. And his sarcasm was insulting. You know what, the best thing would be to erase the last posts since Knuts picture and allow this thread to continue in the joyouse style it did before the gun thing.
And I do hope this makes sens.

I never advertized it man, I just posted a picture of me posing with it that I thought was funny in a stereotypical way. There is a lot of chit chat regarding many of the other pictures and I dont think that they are less off-topic than this one. And for my defense Id like to add that I never said I was proud of owning these weapons (I also stated what in my previous posts), but I wont deny the pride I take in my job and what we stand for. Believe it or not the majority of the population are glad we are present in Afghanistan (our current missionary area), but we still need the guns to keep the lunatics away.
A gun is just a tool, as is a sword, one can be used just as cruelly as the other one.
That should do it for me, I hope you don't think of me as a violence lover and if so I will ask you to rad my posts again. Peace out :)

No worries Knut buddy; aldo the discussion was somewhat inflamed it was over one topic and to be honest I for one like debates. And was not your first pictures that started all this, but your second one, with your weapon alone. And I said "advertising" because I used to work for a while in that field and when you show a pic of your product and present its abilities its called advertising. Alo I said to erase the posts "since Knuts picture" meaning your first picture, with you, will stay.
So, what do you all say? Shall I do it and delete the posts or do you think we should let the posts stay?
It's your choice mate, forums aren't supposed to be democratic anyway (no sarcasm), mods are here for a reason so do what you think is right :)

Lol guys:) I'm 30 going on 80 :D. No kidding, I'm 30. And yeaps, I do look young. Don't ask me why. No excesses I think. And no smoking. And lots of fresh air and good water perhaps. This was made last summer. I don't like to take lots of pictures with me, I don't consider myself very photogenic. But this one is pretty fair.

OT: knut, that's a G3A4 you posed with (G3A3 with a collapsable butt). Nice weapons...we've got them too. But you quote a range of a couple of kilometers....max effective range is 1.4km, (max range is around 3 I think) but normal use range is around 300m. Range selector only goes up to 400m. And they truly are deafeningly loud. Thunder! Not to mention heavy (over 5kg loaded).
We've also got HK11's...a light machine gun version of the G3, uses the same ammo, even the same magazines if you don't fancy using a belt feed.

These are quite old pics, taken August 05. Horrible day...43 degrees celcius, sweat streaming down your face, into your eyes, with just enough breeze to stir the dust and plaster it over you, but not enough to cool you down :haha:

im in PETRA , JORDAN in the middle east...i went and visited the ancient city inthe summer.. :) had to walk 5 kilometeres into the city and up a 1500 step mountain to reach where i am in that picture..

Dude, that place looks gorgeous; I really enjoy seeing great sights from atop mountains. After all that mountain climbing, you consider such views to be your reward.

I got a message asking about which camera we used for taking those panoramic pics, so I think it would greartto share the answer in case somebody would interested in!

Hi Friend :wave: ya both trying to do freelance or get a full-time position .I'm all done with landscapeing the Ex wife made me sell it to buy her half out.I tryed to start a new landscape ,but i'm not 20 this time.I just cann't do it no more.then my mom died .she had no money.What can I do But i'm married again :drool: She allmost done with school, a lawyer.So I'm going to see how the other side lives.but i'll never forget where I came from.
