Basically, she's a nomad who carries only a backpack, assorted light weaponry, and whatever clothes she can loot.
She kills. Alot. She's good at it. She is roughly twenty years of age.
And that's the gist of the character...

Below is a pic that hopefully explains what's been done so far.
The tri count's kinda high, but should be alright (I'm undecided as to whether the jacket will be a removable piece or not and there's alot to be done in the way of saving tri's)

Got the gun finished up. And that other weapom (Kama?) may end up as a pair.
Not alot with girl yet, ponytail and draswtrings for pants and jacket...

exigaen: thanks alot. probably 10-20+/- hrs:( really slow at high poly stuff - it's the first gun attempt for me...
Tarik2d: all max, poly modeling with floating geometry wherever I could get away with it.

Been messing with Unity, put a viewer together for the gun:

All in max, so have you baked the maps from a high res model to the low res one?

Its my first gun attempt too and i'm also using max.So BIG UPS to you because its definitely not easy.Plus I am almost positive your gun is WAY more detailed then mine.I'm really digging the base mesh for this character.Its flowing really nice.

I cant wait for your next update.Ill be watching.

... the shoes'll be the last/next thing to model in max, then zbrush for the rest. the tri's are kinda high - everything hidden by the jacket has yet to be deleted...

Awesome dude! Your Max skills are clearly top-notch to get this much done this quickly. The high res sculpting so far too is pretty clean. Very nice looking model so far.

looking really good man :) i'd sculpt some variations and folds into the backpack though, cuz at the moment its looking too perfect like she just pulled it out a store or something.

exigaen: thanks, man. You're right - went back added some stuff to the bag.
Used the normal map as texture in zbrush and sculpted new folds to correspond to existing normal map - then overlayed the new map on the original - worked pretty well.
Anyway, thought that was kinda neat process/concept...

More bakes...only stuff left is the girl herself and the undershirt/tanktop.

Got all the bakes onto single 2048 and rigged her(somewhat) - and here are some shots...since these I changed the style of the chain-wallet...
catmull-rom, scanline, fake? bloom using the blur render effect set to luminance

..there is something odd with the shadowing...but is stylish so it's ok for me!!

Mr.fE: :D the shadow weirdness is probably from something done in photoshop(the renders were'nt originally grayscale)

The model and the gun look amazing. I know you'll do a kick-ass job with the girl's texture just by looking at the gun.

Dude - lemme just thank you for that first pic with the workflow laid out! For someone like me whose learning Zbrush, that kinda thing is invaluable. I didn't even know there was a retopology tool until seeing some stuff in this comp - your Work-in-progress shots have been awesome to look at. So seriously, thanks man!

Secondly, glad I made your day with that first remark I made:) Guess I should learn to read more of the threads instead of just looking at the pretty pictures;)

That model is lookin' awesome man:) Really clean, nicely modeled - it really is looking great man. Glad to see you looking on schedule to finish this comp man; I'm sure it's going to be amazing when it's finished!
