About time I start this competition. Here's some zsketchs for my first post. I'm working primarily on the helmet and backpack at the moment, as these will be the most important elements for my character. Currently I'm liking the bottom right one the most, let me know what you guys things. More to come soon including some drawings.

all helmets look badass!
I guess the difference will be in the whole armor...but I'm for the top right!

thanks guys.

These pieces will be the only primary parts of the armor, other than knee pads and such.

I'm not sure if I like any of these guns I sketched. Might try something a little different.

wow, really cool:) I like the idea of an suit/armored guy - giving me Dark Void/Rocketeer kinda vibe. Which, by the way, there aren't enough heroes like that, so that's cool.

How's your Zbrush workflow work btw? If you don't mind me asking. I'm using Zbrush 3.1 for the first time in this comp, and I don't know how to do very detailed things with Zspheres, so I'm currently detailing up the low poly mesh old-school in 3ds Max. How do you get more detailed meshes out of Zspheres? Does it have something to do with Adaptive Skins?

Sorry if I'm prodding too much:) I just wanna pick up some good knowledge from this comp. I am looking forward to seeing some more of this guy;)

@VinsanityV20- Thanks, yeah I love the newest zbrush. Your still using 3.1?? Pick up 3.5R3 asap. It's a free upgrade and they added so much new stuff. Especially the polish brush, zsketch, and the form brush.

I build VERY little from scratch inside of max now. Because its so much faster to build it quickly in zbrush and then just trace over it in max.

Good luck, and enjoy 3.5

Yeah Normal maps look great i second that. Did you render them in zbrush or max?

The Bake came out really nice but I think you could take some of the geometry of the shoes and use them somewhere else that needs them more like the upper leg section, shoulder section, etc. Where the model needs to bend specifically.

This is looking great so far man, keep it up.

Cheers.

xxxcubanxxx- Thanks man. will do!

Martin_x- Thanks, yeah I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

Tarik2d- Xnormal mostly, and a little in max, for the tubes.

dark_maggot- Oh good idea, ill rework that area.

Dude - this guy came out really nice! I like the helmet, but I love the armor - the jumpsuit/leather/camo look to it is a really unique style. Though, might I suggest changing the color of the camo though? If this is post apocalyptic, wouldn't it be desert-camo colors? Light browns and stuff? Though I suppose that's stereotyping things - just 'cuz most people think of a Fallout 3/Mad Max style post apocalypse doesn't mean that's how things may actually turn out:D

Awesome, awesome job man!
