View Full Version : deformation in 3dmax
in 3dmax, when i use bone to contorl something to move
the joint must been deformed
i want to know what kind deformations of this
is it a free form deformations ,or mass springs systems ,or others?
thanks!
did u tried the skin modifier?:D
i had used bone and skin modifier to complete the movement, for example, when i rotate a figer of a hand, the joints parts of the figer and hand must have a deformation
and this deformation is what i want know,is this a free form deformations ,or others(there are lots of deformation in 3d animation)
i mean what kinds of deformation techniques 3dmax used in that deformation
please forgive my poor english
u could try the bulge and joint deformer gizmos on th skin modifier, but u got to apply them in vertex mode, so u can hide the envelopes when working on them...
skinning is quite an art by itself...
do u mena that if i close my hand the knuckles are more defined? if thats so u definitely have to try the deformers inside skin modifier...u can go to the help in max to see how they work (too long to post here)
hope it helped!!!
