PRIMAL: unoriginal concept art?
I just read the interview with lead design guy at Sony in Europe
ans saw a few of the concept art and for such a big name like sony, the art doesn't impress me a bit. The demons look like a thousand other we've seen before and the gargoyle side kick looks like a character from one of those Disney movies. I do like the main character -the girl.
Now, for a new game shouldn't the game company go all out to produce outstanding, original, never before seen concept art in order to distinguish itself from so many others? Primal may be a good game to play, but the few sketches I saw are lacking creativity, originality and , of all things: character.
I can do better than that! Hell, many of you out there can come up with more intresting designs. I painted a huge gargoyle and post it it over at the digitalart.org fantasy forum, that looks much more menacing than those in Primal. Probably the consept art for primal has to be simple as they later have to write code for everything and it takes time to work with too much detail,I don't know, I'm not a programmer. What do you think? let me know your comments.
