160 min so far, i lost a lot of tim on the tire (stupid setback...)
nice work and after only 160 mins something like this would take me months to model. already looking very formidable!

Thank you!
A good way for improving speed (except practise of course), is to use shortcuts. More you know them, the faster it will be. I started using them a lot recently, and it really helped me.
Happy modeling!

I'm done with the model, and i like how it came out. Changed the desig a lot, because earlier it looked like a light recon vehicle. I think that now looks more like its' name sounds.

@ t-rex Thanks man
@ Moridin yeah, indeed it is, i guess this is a good thing :)
In case anybody's confused - the cylinder with the chains is used to sweep mines. I didn't have time to adjust the lenght...

I started working on the textures, i don't really like the spec on the rust and maybe the rust itself is too sharp...

They also do a excellent job on sweeping personnel as well
btw, the curved front panels remind me a lot of the Combine technology from HalfLife2
speaking of combine, i think ill try to make that Combine APC once i finish up on my District9 MNU Casspir
nice work, good start on the texturing too

@ Rachel vd M I never played hl2, the idea came to me when i panicked when i saw there was just ~15 min for modeling left. :D.
@ noyb Thanks man, i think i'll post new updates today.

I got a bit carried away :), so i'm thinking i'll make a bigger project out of this, maybe make small robots instead of biped... (this isn't part of the smc, i already finished the model, this was just for fun).
And did some more texturing

whahahaaa that is awesome,
you should make it into a nice still with robots fleeing for their lives while being shredded
a bit like in Irobot, only more robot gore ;)
i'd bet ya could get a plug on the 3dt frontpage ;)
zipel

I'm glade you like it! :)
Agreed Rachel, with oil gushing everywhere (robots don't have blood, do they? :) )
edit: that plug would be great, too :D. I think i'll start new thread tomorrow, i'm not sure about robot's design...was thinking something like small robot goblins... :)

if you beat them hard enough they might bleed, though i never beaten a robot that hard (yet) ;)
btw have you seen my truck after last nights update yet?

Yeah, check your thread...
It looks great but just one comment ... out of the 20,000 guns that it had not one of it can shoot if something comes from behind :P lol
Just a thought lol

Haha, thanks man, you can't see it from this angle, but it doesn't need guns in the back, it has a TON of armour (i'll post a different screengrab, as soon as i get to my computer).

I'm working on another project, so i neglected this one. Don't really have much time, so i didn't make custom textures, i just played with composite map inside max...
This is prety close to the final version, fell free to coment :)

Hi zipel, this design is looking cool. It reminds me of warhammer 40K Orc machines. I love the concept, very brutal and savage.

really good model. the only thing i notice is the backgroud, it doesn´t help the image. specially the floor, it looks a little curve.

Thanks guys :)
@diegosword I'll change the background, and yes, you're right, the floor is a bit sloped. I had to do it because the cylinder in the front is lowered, so it would intersect the ground if i hadn't pushed it down...
