Yep, pen tablet it's a good idea, but if you learn to draw without tablet,it will be a good base for your future CG artworks.;)

Bah! You've got plenty of time. You've got the sculpt done, that's the hard part, everything is layed out for ya now, just gotta trace it for the low poly and paint it.

Sculpt looks pretty good by the way.

nice job so far. Either his hands are too big, or his foot is too small.

Martin_x
24-01-2010, 04:48 PM
Thanks. Yes I guess his boot is a little small. Will try to scale it up as I'll finish lowpoly. Here's the final highpoly.
Yesterday have received my pen tablet. Now I got to get used to. There are 2 buttons on the pen. Do you guys use your index finger or thumb to press these buttons?

Looks really cool. I think the mechanical elements came out quite nice.

Switches on the pen - I use my index finger.

Hey Martin_x!

Look cool to me:D I like the mech feet.
Its a little bit off topic, but do you think that buying a tablet is worth the price? I was thinking about buying one for concept drawing, because i suck with mouse right now:D but i don't know how it feels to look at the monitor, and draw "blindly" on the tablet.

I hope you will finish this in time!

Sculpts looking mad nice! And grats on the tablet, you'll have a lot more freedom now ;)

In response to Cordero, I definitely believe that buying a tablet is worth the price. I used a mouse when I was younger, but just a year ago, started using a small wacom bamboo tablet. It really helped me improve my drawing and sculpting skills on the computer. Recently, I was given a gift of a wacom intuos4 tablet, medium size, a bit more expensive but i've improved even more. You get used to drawing blindly, it's not that bad after a few weeks of using it. There is a tablet that projects the screen on the tablet for you, but I won't get into how much that one is. :P

Looks good. Best make haste on the texturing tho, times a-wasting.

Edit: Make sure his pant or shirt has piratey stripes on it. Pirates like their stripes!

You should add your WIP thread link to the final entry!! It's a must thing!

Looks good. I think it would have been nice to see a couple different colored metals in the arm/leg, no complaints otherwise. Well done.
