Hello, I'm new here, hoping to regularly show you my work, and maybe get some criticism and improve Smile

Top right head sketch of your last post, when you're looking at you chin from a down point, it's an inverted V, It's kinda triangular, seem you've moved a bit there :), self-model is quite an hard task.
Your self painting is quite good, neck a bit long, but the face is accurate, good job there, keep it up. I think the mirror is an important tool.
Have you ever tried charcoal?

with the Natalie Portman one I like the shaded one at the top of the post but for me it's the simplistic middle sketch that looks the most like her there. The above post .......no sure who she is but the perspective sketch is spot on, as for the side sketch is looks totally different, was the side sketch guesswork or another photo?

Again with this Natalie Portman you're spot on with the side profiles both sketches and painting work but on the front profile you not too far off but her upper lip looks deformed and bubbley if you get my meaning, again I know it's guesswork but it's all learning I guess :) Love the simple trainer sketch too.

Like your last concept! I would erase the lighthouse on top right (or make it really smaller), because maybe the composition could breathe a bit more there (a bit more free space, a pinch).

The Emma Watson it's off to a great start. Just pay attention the the ear a little more, and the left eye is a little larger than it needs to be. But up to your usual excellent standard :)

A photo is already a projected perspective.
Memory build help your understanding of the image, but seems you achieve a better result when using the photo.
So my question is: Is it just for the understanding part? For a creative process? Or for technique?

There is also a trick when you're doing a standing pose, when you project the head center's vertically onto the ground, it's quite always between the feet. Upper part of the girl and lower part doesn't seem to be onto the same perspective.

You're making a good use of your eye, behind the eye is the brain, and it can be used as a tool too. (I remember your memory exercises)
Maybe that sometimes you should try to completly get out of your image, make something else, to get a fresh new view on it 10-15 minutes later when you come back to your work. There you'll usually have a new point of view, and you can see new mistakes that you've missed before.

It's fail because you decided it's fail, you can make correction onto an image, there is a lasso tool, there is transform, there is color blending, in worst case there is even fluidity or erase and make over.
On digital painting, in my personal point of view, an image is never fail, it's not a crystal that you can't work on. If you want to start it with a new drawing: do it, but nothing prevent you to copy paste elements/layers on photoshop, and nothing prevent you to scale, rotate, and use all the tools your got on those.
In digital painting, we've got plasticity and we can use it in all possible forms ever! And it's a privilege!
It's good to dump when you think it's a trash, but for this one, it's really sad.

Lightning on your last selfportrait is really interesting.
"Fly" pop up better with new background, blue tones onto the shoulders trick my eye about the under structure (transparency).

Nice work on this sci-fi guy, volumes are starting to pop out nicely, like the intriguating athmos. Reflexion on the floor is a nice trick.
This square format is hard to work on (composition), I couldn't, I would double the image surface on top of it (with some amazing ceiling). How can you do that?

I didn't mean it in this way: "bad", I mostfully wanted to explain that it's quite hard to work onto this kind of format. And you managed to get some interesting result on it.

And what I wanted to point out, it's that with the perspective there and the skills I know you've got, if (doubling the image height size) you add/paint some more old church/castle kind of ceiling (you know this kind of lightning you got into those dark old romanesque or gothic architecture, there is always plenty of details up there), you'll increase depth, details and athmos. You could even made a SCI-FI interpretation there, it would fit.
You know just this copy/paste technique (decrasing superimposed triangular shapes) that create a depth illusion.

I think it could improve greatly your image (and its athmos), but it's just a personal opinion.
